Audi E-Tron Specs

While the E-Tron is not the first all-electric SUV to join the market, it foreshadows the future of Audi as they begin their transition to electric mobility. With decent range, fast charging capability, a suite of in-car technology and refined driving dynamics, it retains everything one expects from well, an Audi. Its clear from both its styling and specs that this is another strong candidate from the German automaker, that just so happens to be electric.

All e-trons will be using the same 95 kWh battery pack under the floor, that will provide more than 200 miles of electric range. Horsepower figures vary from 355 to 402, depending on whether the vehicles Boost Mode is engaged. With this enabled, Audi claims that the SUV can accelerate to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. To help put this power down, AWD is standard.

When connected to a DC fast charger, the battery can be filled up to 80% in around half an hour. 10 minutes of plug in time at a public charging station will get you around 54 miles of range; 30 minutes of charge time increases that number to 163 miles. For those who prefer to do most of their charging at home, Audi has partnered with Amazon Home Services to provide Level 2 home charging kits. This will enable a 0-100% charge in approximately 9 hours.

When compared to other luxury electric SUV's, the E-Tron does have less estimated range than Tesla's Model X (238 miles) and Jaguars I-Pace (234 miles). With a starting price tag of $75,795 (not including the $7,500 federal tax credit) its been set closely to other new entries in the segment. The Model X starts at $83,200 including destination and the I-Pace has been set $70,495.

Even though the E-Tron doesn't bring anything new to the table, it's a comfortable, quite and capable electric SUV. For long term loyalists and first time buyers, it ticks every box on your wish-list.
