2019+ Audi E-Tron Competitors

How the Audi E-Tron compares to other full-electric SUV's like the Tesla Model X, Mercedes EQC and Jaguar I-Pace is a big question.

When compared in a lot of reviews, the E-Tron actually falls behind although not so much to non-enthusiasts, which isn't a bad thing. So viewing it as a passengers car rather than a drivers car does help. However, when we consider what the E-Tron SUV could have been, Audi has some work to do. For now its just the those three SUV's from Tesla, Mercedes and Jaguar that Audi has to worry about. Eventually the segment will heat up and Audi will have to do something. On the other hand, a lot doubters like myself could be wrong.

The E-Tron might be fine as a vehicle built for passengers.

How does everyone think the E-Tron stacks up? Is its more reserved take on the all-electric SUV a good thing?

What will also help with these comparisons is understanding exactly what Audi had in mind with the E-Tron, from their own words:

The Audi e-tron is a Luxury SUV that happens to also be electric.

The Tesla Model X is an electric driving gadget, that happens to be in a SUV form factor.

The I-Pace is a 4-door sports hatchback that happens to be electric (an electric SV, not much Utility.)

There is not as much overlap in the market for these 3 vehicles as people perceive there to be. I looked at those 3, and for my needs, the choice was obvious, neither of the other 2 cars made sense.

Perspective is indeed key and helps to understand how the E-Tron SUV fits in. Not long from now should see an electric Audi SUV that can easily take on the Model X.
