No AM radio? Any alternative ways to get AM?

When we ordered our eTron last September, we had no clue whatsoever that this would be the only car ever manufactured that doesn't come with AM radio. We prefer to listen to talk radio. KFI AM 640. And we were amazed that the eTron does not have AM radio. Has anyone figured out a work-around to be able to listed to KFI640 from some method on their phones and having it connect to the eTron sound system?

I think you should be able to stream the radio station online through the e-tron's infotainment system, rather than using the am tuner.

I am also perplexed and disappointed about the lack of AM, even more so as it is mentioned in the owner's manual (and so is the passenger side charge port, and the DVD player.) I am going to see if there is an AM radio that will communicate via bluetooth or USB. Not likely I suppose...

Some AM stations simulcast on FM

Try KOST 103.5 HD2 for KFI simulcast.

I listen to 1010WINS in NY. I guess I have to use the Radio.com app on my phone.

Try WWFS (WNEW) 102.7 HD3 for 1010 WINS simulcast on FM. It came on the air in 2008, but I don't know if it still works.

Yes it still works, but as with any HD radio station, reception can be spotty. I actually told my dealer's technology specialist about it.

That said, I believe the reason the AM radio is deleted is due to interference with reception caused by the high voltage and electric motors. Plug In Hybrids also do not come with AM I believe.
