We have a 2023 Q4 Prestige trim in US with adaptive cruise control but do not see the Predictive Control option in the MMI.
Automatic adherence to speed limit with some tolerance built in sounds like a useful feature when driving on the highway. Is this feature missing in US models only or is it missing in European models as well?

Racerwong, after talking to a few folks and watching some YouTube videos, the conclusion I reached was that the Predictive Control and the Speed limiter options were not included in the North American market. Which is a pity as I would have loved to try out these features.

That said, on a recent trip to Germany, I noticed that the speed limit on the Autobahn changes very frequently. I hated how the speed limit changed from no limit to 100 to 80 back to no limit, then to 100 in a matter of few miles. That along with speed cameras makes the predictive control speed limiter feature very important in European countries.

Here in US, on the interstate highways we all regularly drive above speed limit and speed cameras are almost non-existent so the feature might not be that useful :)

Max, it’s def been active here based on a couple ppl. This YouTube video is from dealer in NH and on a FB post someone in Utah posted video of smooth operation . Maybe Audi turned it off at some point

The Youtube video just shows the regular Adaptive Cruise Assist feature with distance control. This feature is part of Premium Plus and Prestige trims in US.

Predictive control adds another layer on top of that where the car changes the speed based on speed limit signs and slows down automatically when going on a tight curve or when approaching a roundabout.

I realized there was a lane keep assist and a lane-centering only with adaptive cruise (push in the turn-signal stock to toggle it).

The lane keep ping pongs, but the lane centering is quite nice.

Hmm, that’s how I activated it. Adaptive cruise works perfect. Just the lane centering does not. I’ll try again and take a video
You need to turn on the lane centering in the MMI before it will enable with the pushbutton. (Once enabled in the MMI, it does stay enabled in the MMI, but it defaults to off.)

If you have two little triangles below the lane edge bars on the cruise control status display, then you're in centering mode. If you don't have two triangles, you're in ping-pong mode.

My Q4 in Canada does exactly what you see on the video. Sometime the centering function turn off in the MMi and you have to re enable it

What I don't understand, is why they couldn't make the HUD polarize the other way? Technically, they should be equivalent.
My wife likes polarizing sunglasses, because they cut road glare, and I get her point.

I am sure if there was an easy fix to accomadate polarized sunglasses that it would have been done by now but maybe that is coming. Using non- polarized sunglasses is not a big deal. You just get used to it. BMW has offered HUD 18 years or so. I have used it just about that long on various BMWs. It is awesome technology.
