I haven’t seen a thread on this yet, so I thought I’d start one. For anyone cross-shopping Premium Plus vs. Prestige, one of the big differences seems to be air vs. coil spring suspension

In a past car I had with adaptive air suspension, I really liked how it felt most of the time, but I’ve never had the chance to compare it back to back with a coil setup on the same model.

For those of you who have driven both ideally:
  • How different does the Q6 feel on air vs. coils in everyday driving?
  • Do you notice a big improvement in comfort or handling with air suspension?
I am just curious what people think, especially from those who have been able to try both versions or made the decision themselves.

We just picked up our 2025 Q6 Prestige (with full Air suspension) 2 weeks ago. We compared both Premium+ and Prestige quite closely. AIr Ride on the Prestige is 100% worth the $$. Rough streets & fwys in Los Angeles & speed humps everywhere. Air Ride makes it like they're almost not even there. Terrific ride. Plus, when changing Drive Mode, ride height automatically adjusts! I've not had a chance to push it hard in Dynamic (lowest suspension setting) yet, but will soon. As an aside... when I bought my Mustang Mach-E in 2021, I did not get their "magnaride" (active) suspension option. And I regretted it during the 3+ years I owned it. IMO, spend the $$ on the Presitge + Air Suspension. You won't be disappointed.

We ended up driving a Premium back-to-back with a Prestige and the difference was clearer than I expected. The Prestige felt more comfortable on rough city streets in Comfort mode, and in Dynamic it was both more predictable and still smoother than coils. For us, the air ride on 19s has been a great fit.

I avoided driving the SQ6 since I didn’t want the temptation, and it didn’t make a lot of sense for our use case since we already have sports cars and a Cayenne.

That said, I remember seeing in a review that the SQ6’s air suspension is tuned a bit more toward the sporty side. I’d imagine it’s still extremely comfortable, just with a firmer baseline. At the end of the day, I think we’re probably splitting hairs with anything on the PPE platform. They all come across as absurdly refined and comfortable compared to most other EVs.
