I recommend using internet radio listening instead, if the local FM stations don't broadcast what you need.

all the electronics also interferes with phone compasses.

I would guess that it's the actual motor that does that. It is a really freakin' big electromagnet!
It could be current in the feeder wiring, too, I suppose. But the obvious magnet is the one between the wheels.
