I read that new car prices have gone up by 4-13% overall throughout 2021. Has anyone noticed this with the e-tron models and any other cars? What tips do you have for avoiding high prices and saving money on a new or used vehicle purchase?
Seeing your post made me re-visit the Audi configurator to see if anything had changed since I bought mine.
The current list price is exactly the same as when I ordered my car (in October 2020), so list prices in the UK have not changed at all.
It may be the case that the actual prices being paid have changed a bit, I don't know. Most people in the UK expect to pay around £10k or so below list for cars in this category but maybe that has dropped a bit. Probably not though as all car brands are affected in much the same way with supply chain issues. I imagine that it is just the lead time that has increased.
No doubt there will be a price increase when a new model is released to the market.
I know the used car market has gone up (especially on the buying ) - I experienced this first hand when I sold my SQ5 to a dealership for 2.5k (may have been a bit more) more than I purchased it for only 6 months prior. And this was accounting for the additional owner + miles.
All the dealerships that got in-touch wanting to buy mine had the same story - can't get new ones in quick enough, and used ones are selling like hotcakes leaving an empty forecourt.
