Anyone looking for a cheaper E-Tron that happens to live in Europe, China or any other key markets (sorry North America) will be pleased to know that Audi has been testing an Q2 version of it. You won't get Porsche DNA like the bigger E-Tron but when affordability is priority, that prestige goes out the window. Biggest indicator its part of the e-tron line up is the unmistakable grille. 400km range and 300kW/660Nm is to be expected. I'm planning to spend some time in the UK so this comes as a great surprise.

I would be really surprised if the Q2 gets the same range as the much more expensive full size model. Not surprised that they will be testing market interest in it outside of NA for launch. I know the X2 hasn't been doing very well here.

The X2 is only going to appeal to a small subsection of crossover buyers that care more about performance and sporty driving characteristics than utility. Regardless of its cargo capacity, I still think its a great looking vehicle and the M variant delivers some impressive figures.

if China gets them, then it might be a reason for Audi to expand sales elsewhere like the U.S. which has become a challenging market in recent years, during the same time China has been priority #1 for car makers.

China is going to be the main hub for all new EV's, and most automakers have already realized this. Its going to be a tough race to gain market share there however, as there are already some well established Chinese brands.
