Hey everyone … I am having challenges with Electrifly America options even showing up in the MyAudi app.

While I have plenty of charging options at home and my office spaces, I am trying to set up all the remaining options before I actually need them.

So I pulled into a local Walmart to use the Electrify America systems.

Well … apparently there is supposed to be a “button” in the MyAudi app to start this process. My app does NOT have this. I have logged out and back in again. I have called Electrify America and stopped by the dealership and spoken to the “technologist” on staff.

No luck so far. Still can’t see a button.

Strangely enough, when I asked the EA rep to start the free session if I gave them my VIN, they told me that could not happen as I needed to make it all happen inside the AudiApp.

Yay.

For now I will download the EA app however does anyone have a possible solution? Has this happened to them? Does the button eventually just “show up”?

Neither company has really been any help.

EDIT: and yes, I am the “key user” of the car according to the app.

i do it under Electrify America then “start charger”. this was not available to me for the first 24 hours after picking up my car. something had to activate on Audi’s end for it to show up. my dealer had to open a ticket with them. i would talk to your dealer.

Thanks.

As I said, it is NOT in my app (so the screen grab above is clearly not what I see) and my dealer said they had “no idea”.

They gave me the eTron support line. I will email their person and show them my screen grab and ask them to open up a ticket.

I experienced the same previously. You go into the EA portion and a field needs to open up for you to enter the charger ID to start the charge, but that field never presented itself, so I could not start the charge.

Similar to you, I called EA, after verifying the VIN they remotely started the session. Then next time around, the same thing happened. EA again helped, but they also connected me to the Audi eTron helpline (customer service center) to report the issue. The Audi helpline figured that this is happening because the Audi 'cloud' was down.

They follow up with me via email until the issue was resolved, and once it was, all was good again, the next DCFC charging session the charger ID field appeared.

So, first, EA is supposed to help and start the session remotely. Unless somehow your VIN wasn't registered, you are a member of the EA service and they should help. However, the Audi helpline was also very cordial and helpful, so if EA is not helping, contact them.

Audi Customer Service Center: +1 800 822 2834, or [email protected].

I hope this helps.

Perfect.

Once again, this forum was able to point me in the right direction when Audi could not.

Appreciate the assist. Will update when successful!

I e had nothing but success with my EA charging, though not until about 36 hours after picking up my car. This is the sort of “total ecosystem” integration thet needs to improve in order to see true mass market adoption (and yes, I know “the grid can’t handle it!”). Imagine pulling into a gas station and wondering if this is going to work with your car. Granted, petroleum has a 100-year infrastructural head start. But the electrification evolution has enormously greater amounts of technology at its disposal, orders of magnitude better manufacturing and QC, and so many advantages that gasoline did not. In this day and age, for software and connectivity to be weak points is not excusable.

It's fascinating to be that the OEMs don't even care about this. It seems To be an afterthought

I too, was unable to find the Electrify America “button”. It was there before in my MyAudi app. But it has disappeared. So I had to use my credit card and pay to charge my E Tron GT today😬
When I reinstalled the MyAudi app, not only the Electrify American button disappeared. But I got this now on the MyAudi app:
Product Rectangle Font Parallel Circle

Why is it displaying the “Tank fill Level” when I have an fully electric car? (Wasn’t there before)
And why did the Electrify America “ button disappeared? Very frustrating, to say the least😬

People in etron SUV/Sportback's are also having EA problems. There is some sort of outage. My app tells me I have no EA miles left, when in fact I still have close to the 1000 that came with the offer for my car.

I would try deleting yourself as a key user In the car and deleting the app. Then set yourself as a key user again in the car, reinstall the app and that might work. Good luck. No harm in trying it

Thanks. You posted to a thread from eight months ago.

The resolution for this was to remove my first Audi (an S5) from the app, making the eTron the only car, restarting the app, then adding the S5 back.

Worked perfectly.

Since then I had no problems.

Audi app forced a sign in when I tried to charge today. Despite being already logged in.

And once again, it was the third of four pumps that actually worked for me. The success rate really sucks at EA pumps.

But at least this time the pump was overclocking. Giving me 153kw for bit. And consistently 150+ up to about 65% capacity.

the audi app has also been logging me out recently just as i'm trying to start an EA charge. ends up with me having to go back out and unplug/replug the charger again. I really wish audi made this free charging work through the EA app. seems a lot less flaky

Just bought a Q4 etron and the Audi specialist had no clue. They gave me the number of a Etron support folks. They seem to not be able to figure it out either. The EA app has a section that is for promos where you can enter your VIN and promo code. I don't even see Audi on there.

When i bought mine, the dealer told me it would take a few days to activate the free charging. he actually seemed to know a lot about the etrons in general. 24 hours later it was all working. He had to start a ticket with audi to get it working.
