But I was 'amused' by his invitation to see the new Q8 - when I shall never be buying an Audi again.
If the experience was so bad that one will never buy an Audi again, than maybe that can be basis/grounds of the class action lawsuit. Audi traumatized buyers with the q4 such that they will never buy an Audi again. The loss, or damage, is that while friends and family of said buyer can continue to enjoy audi vehicles said buyer cannot because of some PTSD.

Sounds to me that there are grounds for a lawsuit

Deleting items such as heat pump without a significant price reduction

Removal of 360 camera and other expected options in a 70k is not acceptable

So who forced you to buy the car at that price without the options? I think it’s crappy that Audi (and other mfgrs.) deleted options, but with the global supply chain shortages, would you rather not have the car at all? Honestly your remedy to this was to walk away from the deal and buy something else.

In the US pretty much anything can be the grounds for a lawsuit, many fewer things are the grounds for a successful lawsuit.

This is exactly what I did. I let my q4 order go (and one that I had on the Porsche macan) because of the reasons mentioned here, including lack of respect for the consumer. I have not been able to find anything more suitable yet. However I am happy that with my decision to cancel the q4. Again there is no lawsuit here just frustration on my part about the entire q4 purchase experience.

Global supply issues Keep drinking the drink that Audi and VAG group marketing are forcing down your throats

ID4 are coming with 360 cameras and other goodies

Enjoy your non electric seats audiq4 meanwhile ID4 are getting electric seats and even massage chairs

I work in a different manufacturing industry which crosses commodities from electronics to castings/forgings, things are still not back to normal in terms of material availability.

Someone at corporate made the allocation decision between the Q4 and the ID.4, I don’t know why they chose one over the other (nor would I guess, doesn’t anyone else on this forum).

Please feel free to explain to me how things are being removed from a luxury vehicle and price is not being reduced to reflect these deletions

it’s called bait and switch except it’s happening with the manufacturer not the dealership

and a vehicle that is 10-20k less MSRP is getting the identical deleted item with no delay .

…because it’s not against the law as long as you’re told before the sale. No one put a gun to your head and said “we removed all these options but kept the price the same, now sign on the dotted line or else…”

At the time of sale did they or did they not disclose those options being removed? Does your window sticker list those items as being included? If they did disclose them and they aren’t included on your sticker (or have an additional line for that option’s removal), you can be annoyed, but it’s legal. This is not a bait and switch.

This might be frustrating, but is completely irrelevant

What position do you hold at Audi of America?

Are you in Marketing? Sales?

They have a great employee then!

Ah, the old “anyone who questions me must be working for the other side” personal attack. I don’t work for Audi, it’s parent company, subsidiaries, or suppliers. I’m not a shill for big auto either, I had a Lexus that was a lemon and fought them to buy it back. If there’s something actually illegal, then go right ahead however

You still haven’t answered what law(s) you believe Audi broke.

You keep saying bait and switch, but it’s not that since you were told before the purchase about the missing options, so try again. If you walk into a McDonalds passing by two huge ads for the Big Mac (sesame seed buns, two patties, lettuce, sauce, whatever else is on it), get to the counter and order one. It’s not bait and switch for the cashier to say “we’re actually out of lettuce, do you still want it” and sell it to you at the normal price since a) they made you aware of the missing lettuce before payment was made, and b) they have no obligation to reduce the price. Just because the Big Mac pictures up front still have lettuce, it’s not false advertising nor a bait and switch.

Oh you are that person that’s trying to mansplain it to me with using the McDonalds analogy right?

Thanks I don’t buy cars at McDonalds and I also don’t go to McDonalds for a premium burger I go to Five Guys or comparable burger joint and pay much more for the burger and my expectation is a better quality product do you know where I am going with this?

VAG group made a choice to outfit its mainstream brand VW with 360 cameras massage electric seats heated windshield and left its premium brand as the poor sibling

I am sure a class action lawyer would at least look at the case and review

Maybe your lexus lawyer?

Not “mansplaining” anything since I have no idea of your gender (nor do you know mine for that matter).

I get all my cars from McDonalds obviously. It’s so much easier to pick up an Audi at the drive through than the dealership! Well since Five Guys burgers don’t come with anything standard, do you get annoyed and yell bait and switch when they’re out of a topping? My example could just as easily work for Shake Shack, just more people are familiar with the Big Mac

VAG group made a choice to outfit its mainstream brand VW with 360 cameras massage electric seats heated windshield and left its premium brand as the poor sibling
Maybe because this was the first VW EV in the US it was given higher priority vs. the 3rd Audi EV?

I am sure a class action lawyer would at least look at the case and review
Yes, they’d give you a consult but probably not much further (unless they just wanted to take your money).
Maybe your lexus lawyer?
Wasn’t that the movie with Matthew McConaughey?

As the Discission Starter I feel a little responsibility for the way this thread is going.
It seems to me that Audi have:
  • Sold me a sub-standard product – there are items I could have reasonably expected that were missing and items that are not working.
  • Rather than giving Customer service and support, which I could reasonably expect, they ignored me.
  • I can reasonably expect timely correction of faults, not one of which has, to date, been dealt with.
I think items that are not offered at all/ no longer offered, are a different matter.

Personally, I cannot see how you can buy an EV without a heat pump, unless you do little mileage on the way to the shops etc. Any Country (and that must be most) where it is hot or cold, will drain your battery.

Audi is the problem here not our differing interpretations.
