Hello - my trial to Connect PLUS expired recently and so I signed up for the Connect PRIME subscription so I get traffic info that doesn't come with the free Connect CARE plan.

The internet service that comes with PRIME is very very slow/spotty. The problem I am having is that since my iPhone is connected to the car's Wifi HotSpot for CarPlay, if I happen to need to search the internet or pull down email while connected the phone is basically unusable because the PRIME internet service is so slow.

Is there a way to still connect to the car via CarPlay wirelessly but force the phone to use its cell connection for internet instead of the cars WiFi HotSpot?

The Connect Prime does not give you the car's wifi hotspot service. That comes the the top tier Connect Plus.

If you read the footnote here it seems to indicate that Prime does have hotspot. Either way I haven't been able to find the right combination of settings to force my iPhone to use its cellular connection but still connect to the Car wirelessly for CarPlay.

In the footnote, I think they are referring to two different services. "Wi-Fi feature" and "Wi-Fi hotspot feature" are different. The former is what comes with Prime; the latter, with Plus. Maybe you can get clarification from someone at the Audi Connect Service desk: 877-505-2834 .
