We have recently booked a holiday cottage that has a 16A Commando socket for EV charging. However, the Commando plug that was supplied with the e-tron is 32A. Can someone advise if it would it be in order to use an adapter such as this:-


or do I need to buy a complete new cable such as this:-

The adaptor should be fine. I use them and similar for my boat electrics (shore power) albeit the other way round (16A boat onto 32A supply).

Remember to check that your Audi charging box is set to 50% which is the default with the Commando.

Or you could get an adapter 16A Commando to 13A domestic, and change the commando tail over to the 13A one.

Yes, that would be an alternative solution. I think though that I will stick with the original idea. Thanks again.
