Guess Audi is doing some track testing with the new E-tron before it debuts this august and maybe checking to see how the battery does under duress. Nothing will drain it faster than on track where you brake around corners before flooring it in straights.

Really curious to see how the battery will fare under such high strain. I believe Audi originally projected a 0-60 sprint time of 4.6 seconds, so this thing should zip around the track quite quickly.

This is going to generate a lot of heat and that could cause the battery to deteriorate faster so that's a concern as well. We'll have to see what cooling system Audi uses.

Audi has already indicated that the E-Tron will be using a proper thermal cooling system, so there should be no concerns with battery degeneration even with aggressive driving. There is also a heat pump to help keep the battery running at an optimal temperature in the winter.

Hopefully they also include on board diagnostics so we can see the health of our battery. That will be one way to keep owner constantly confident in transitioning over to EV's
