I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but was just chatting with a friend on the East coast who had to have the battery replaced in his Hyundai Kona. The work is finally completed--it took just short of a year!

The work is finally completed--it took just short of a year!Time for an upate. Today is 2 weeks since I had my car towed to the dealer who then had it moved to another Audi dealership. Today I spoke with the service department where the car is now located. They told me that they had 4 experienced Etron technicians at their facility and were waiting on parts from Audi. They also told me that it could take weeks or even months to repair based on their previous experience with Etrons. I just called my dealer and told them that I want something larger than a Q3 since it looks like I may be driving the loaner for quite a while. More updates when I know more.

New update - Today marks 5 weeks since the car stopped working. I'm now driving a Q5 loaner that my dealer gave me to replace the Q3 loaner. I spoke with the service department technician of the dealership that is working on the car. Two weeks ago, he told me that the problem was the wiring harness, and a new one had been ordered. Last week, he told me that the wiring harness had been installed, and all looked good. Now they are waiting on more parts needed to seal the battery compartment once the battery is reinstalled. I'll call them tomorrow for an update.Time for an upate. Today is 2 weeks since I had my car towed to the dealer who then had it moved to another Audi dealership. Car is back after 6 weeks. Turns out that after the new wiring harness was installed and the battery was back in the car, the battery was successfully charged. Then a software update was done, and it blew the new wiring harness. So an updated wiring harness had to be installed to replace the new wiring harness that had just been installed. Car has been running well so far, I'm happy to have it back and hope that's the end of this problem.New update - Today marks 5 weeks since the car stopped working. I suggest that you call Audi Customer Support for help with this issue. Based on the information pamphlet that I found in my glove box, if your EV needs repairs, Audi will give you a car for the duration of the time that you do not have yours. My car was covered under Massachusetts lemon laws because it had less than 15,000 miles on it. I will be getting a financial settlement from Volkswagen of America to compensate me for the six weeks that it took to repair the car. You should not have to wait until October/November. As i already said, call Audi Customer Service and don't take "no" for an answer. They could ship your car to another dealership (I know a good one in Hartford, CT) and still have it repaired before October.Well the response from Audi dealerships in Austin and this thread are sure bringing me down big time...
2021 eTron, lease about 15k Miles and I now have the same issues, Electrical malfunction after charging at electrify America (150). Dealerships won't schedule service until October/November and are not offering loaners (escalating with the dealership I bought the vehicle from).
Not sure lemon laws apply as I am past my first year of ownership but getting really worried about my options.
Sorry to hijack -- what is the dealership in Hartford you like? i live in CT and am looking for a trustworthy dealer for service on my GT.I suggest that you call Audi Customer Support for help with this issue. Hoffman Audi - I live in Western Massachusetts and bought my car from Fathers and Sons Audi in West Springfield. When the car failed, I had it towed to Fathers and Sons. Their tech hadn't completed training on EV so they moved the car to Hoffman in East Hartford. They have several well-trained techs who took good care of the car.Sorry to hijack -- what is the dealership in Hartford you like? i live in CT and am looking for a trustworthy dealer for service on my GT.
Hello I know I’m late, but what was the outcome of this? My Etron did the same thing (cut off right on the eway) out of no where my car been at the audi dealership for two weeks now with no update. Just curious if they ever fixed the car? Can the dealership just do a buy back? Honestly I just wanna be done with the car it was a scary experience.Luckily, Roadside Assistance picked up my e-Tron from the EA Charging Station, and so there was no question of when & where it all happened. To date, Audi has taken full responsibility for my repair, though. They’ve made no attempts to blame EA. I should know more tomorrow. The technician finally got to install the new high-voltage battery module & they hope to have it ready for me to pick up tomorrow. Then I’ll get to see the paperwork with all the details of work performed & parts replaced. I’ll keep you guys posted.
Had the same error with my eTron on my holiday trip a week ago. But not because of a charger malfunction. Just out of a sudden. The car is with an Audi dealer since then. Audi recommended to replace the High Voltage Battery Control Module SX6. The dealer is waiting for the part. Might be difficult to get because of chip shortage.
So I'm still waiting. Any news on your side?
This is my exact experience... crazy this just happened to me on friday. If I exit the vehicle, lock it and wait 5 minutes before unlocking and getting in, it usually starts up. But it almost got me killed on Friday when it died on the 110 freeway at rush hour. Circle Audi was the only dealership that could get me in within a week. Rolling the dice until then...Happened to me today. Just driving to work, yellow notice came on. Car still runs, but Audi service said bring it in, though they have no rental cars available and won't be able to even look at it for 2-3 days. 2019 with less than 15,000 miles on it.
How does not letting the GT touch the ground help?🙂Update, they haven’t even started work on my e-tron because “the lift” is occupied by an etron gt that they can’t get fixed…
