I continue to periodically have charging issues with the Juicebox. It was about a year ago I reported it to Enel. I ended upgrading to a new box. Now, my Time of Use does not work properly. It either does not start as planned, starts late, or starts/stops/restarts again. Enel continues to blame Audi. They feel it's a firmware problem. I've took it to the dealer and they have nothing to offer. The eTron's charging scheduler is not user friendly and does not really support Time of Use. The dealer technician could not program it the way I wanted.

So I got the below reply from Enel on this issue. The below seems to imply all 2019 eTrons will not work in trying to use the Time of Use feature on a charger?

It's the same issue. When a car is plugged in at the time the JuiceBox is not allowing the charge to commence, the 2019 e-tron switches to "sleep" mode after about a minute, which is registered by the JuiceBox as "unplug" event, And the "unplugged" status remains in effect until the car is brought out of the "sleep" mode or "pings" the charging port. What happened on 5th is as follows:
11/5/2021, 5:48:29 PM - car plugged-in, outside of TOU, charging does not start.
11/5/2021, 5:50:06 PM - JuiceBox registers "unplug" event due to the car switching to "sleep" mode.

11/5/2021, 6:25:10 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.
11/5/2021, 6:42:07 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.
11/5/2021, 6:45:11 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.
11/5/2021, 6:55:59 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.
11/5/2021, 6:59:03 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.
11/5/2021, 7:00:36 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.
11/5/2021, 7:15:30 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.
11/5/2021, 7:16:07 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.
11/5/2021, 7:23:43 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.
11/5/2021, 7:25:55 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.
11/5/2021, 7:29:17 PM - the car pings the port, charging does not start, still outside of TOU.

11/5/2021, 10:05:03 PM - JuiceBox switches TOU to allowed, charging does not start, since the JuiceBox is not registering a plug-in
11/5/2021, 10:17:13 PM - the car pings the port, and since TOU is allowed - charging commences.
11/5/2021, 11:00:06 PM - charging is interrupted on the JuiceBox end. This, I suspect is a result of server time change to DST. The JuiceBox restricts charging until 11/5/2021, 11:05:20 PM at which time charging does not resume, since by then the car entered the "sleep" mode again.
11/6/2021, 4:40:25 AM - the car pings the charging port again, and charging is resumed.
11/6/2021, 7:14:39 AM - charging stops, due to what I suspect a charging limit on the car end.

The inconsistency comes from unpredictability of the car "pinging" its charging port. Sometimes it pings it with a 5 minute delay, other times it does not ping it all throughout the night. When the car pings the charging port within reasonable time after TOU switches to allowed - you are not seeing any issues charging.

2019 Audi e-tron is the only vehicle that behaves this way, and that is why our engineers aren't even considering this issue as a possible JuiceBox design problem or malfunction.
