It looks like Drivin.ca has already got some hands on time with the new E-Tron in Abu Dhabi. They found it be very sophisticated and luxurious, with plenty of power to play with. It does appear from the article however that those virtual side mirrors that Audi showcased will not be available to Canadian buyers. https://driving.ca/audi/reviews/road-test/first-drive-2019-audi-e-tron-2

Spent quite some time looking at photos of the new E-Tron but this video brings in some unique perspective (color, environment, etc.) Couldn't be happier with the design, subtle but special.

Glad to finally see it in action and it looks like Audi has been able to successfully incorporate their DNA into a new electric platform. Interested to learn more about this overboost function and its impact on the battery.

I think it can only be used for short bursts of a few seconds at a time, and with the huge spike it provides to power output I would guess that it heavily discharges the battery. Should make for some impressive 0-60 sprints off the line.

After seeing the new Q8 and being impressed with its design, I was concerned that's where it stops. But clearly here a lot of that has shown through :D

For comparison:

It makes sense from a production standpoint to borrow so much of the Q8's design. One of the main tweaks that we are seeing with electrified models is with the grille and wheel setup. I have no interest in those virtual mirrors.

Unfortunately it will take away from the prestige of owning a flagship product, something Mercedes doesn't do, nor does BMW.
