Bridgestone, Continental, Hankook, Pirelli, to name a few, are Audi's other OEM tire suppliers. It's common during the production assembly line for a car manufacturer to switch from one supplier to another. Your's could be the last 500-1000 cars - 125-250 set of tires, to have installed with Good Years.

 

I was told it's the luck of the draw, mine is on Pirelli P Zero's, no issues with them.

The interesting thing about the tires that get put on is some have better longevity than others. Look at the treadwear number. Some manufacturers have much better treadwear than others. With the heavy weight of these vehicles this translates into more frequent replacement with some brands.

 

The Bridgestone Alenza 001's are rated at 69dB and have an A rating for energy efficiency, making them the quietest and most efficient of the tyres that Audi factory fit, for the UK at least. I can confirm that they handle really well, especially in the wet. But, I have read that they wear out quite quickly compared to others. Depends what you're looking for in a tyre.

 

Be glad you don’t have the Bridgestones - if they’re anything like the Bridgestones on the Q4 / ID.4 they barely last 20k miles…

 

Actually the biggest killer of your tires is lack of air pressure. That’s why it’s especially important to check your tire pressures often since we don’t have the ability to directly monitor our tire pressures.

 

Do to the EV weight, how often do you check your tire pressure? Weekly, twice, thrice a week? If I'm not lazy, I check mine twice to thrice a week. I'm glad I don't have TPMS, one less electronic nanny to worry about.

 

I'd love to get 20k on a set of tyres! I've never got more than about 16-17k on a set of tyres on either of my e-trons. Probably my driving style. I check the pressure regularly.

 

I've just had 24k miles from my XC90 PHEV... before I sold it. The tyres still had 4mm all round!
That's 145bhp EV to rears and 310bhp ICE to the fronts.

 

Due to EV weight, I'd get a new set of tires, especially the fronts, when the treads are 3-4mm low.
