Hello Audi World People:smile:
I too love my Audis and this was a huge surprise to me that electric was being injected into the Audi line up. I've owned the Q-5 and currently in the Q-7. My wife and I was looking to get into the 2019 A-7. Any thoughts about that A-7? Anyway, just happy to find some people who are also interested in the E-Tron. Hello again!!!

welcome to the community

once you get your hand on an e-tron it'll be interesting to hear your take having seen Audi progress from a long time consumer perspective.

question about the A7 is hard to answer without knowing what you're looking for in a vehicle.

Welcome to the forum, always glad to have another Audi enthusiast in the fray. The new A7 has been getting stellar reviews across the board, but some sites have mentioned that the all touchscreen interface can be distracting and that U.S models are denied some of the high tech options.

Welcome to the community. Would this be your first EV? Looks like the segment is going to get crowded pretty quickly with the upcoming EQ C and iX3.

Yes. This will be my first. They have me guessing on the range of the EV. WHY?
last I checked the numbers weren't set in stone and after seeing rivals like the Model X come to market, most interested buyers have a general expectation.
Audi can only aim so low and quite frankly they haven't been in the business of disappointing buyers.

There are several different testing systems in place when it comes to the rated range of a new electric. According to early WLTP standards, we should be seeing around 248 miles. You also need to factor in the weather and your driving habits.

even battery degration over time will factor into those numbers which has me wondering if there's some break in period for the battery and related components till we see consistent numbers?

I believe that newer electrics take some time to learn your driving habits, so that can impact the range you see early on. Rapid charging has been found to be one of the biggest factors that impacts the lifetime of a battery.

as the public becomes more aware of these nuances that can be quite costly and discouraging from the start, it should help to scale up adoption of vehicle subscription packages.
