That, I could not say. I really have not used it myself, just saw the option and read threads from other people asking about why their A/C was running when that opened the car door. Did your MMI give the the option to set up the feature?
The manual (pg 90 for 2021 MY) does say it will only run for five minutes.

Has to be a coincidence, but no sooner than i pull into the service bay to have my 10k Inspection performed and the latest software update applied, the app went nuts with notifications! Literally catching up all the data from the last couple of days.

It was weird to watch ... Like a time lapse video of charging performance, etc.
Same here, had my 10K service and less than a week later…no connection, no traffic data, and the app won’t sync with the car.

I picked up my 2023 eTron suv two weeks ago. The MyAudi app worked for a week and now I can no longer connect to the vehicle through the app. I have reinstalled the app, turned vehicle cellular data off and back on, reset the mmi. Nothing works. My dealership is giving me lots of mumbo jumbo about Apple and The Cloud servers being the problem. This is nonsense. The dealership has no idea what to do.

Is there a fix for this? The Audi forum is full of people with the same problem.
Oh my! If I could have warned you before buying one of these.

I am sill having all these issues. This is after calls to Audi connect, Audi customer service, Audi e-tron dedicated support, 3 visits to the dealership service department, calls to sales people. I have had it with this car. PLEASE tell everyone you can. DO NOT BUY one of these. They are awful. Audi does not care, or they would fix it. 6 months of trying is more than long enough!!!!!

Yes, if you check other threads here you will realize that the MyAudi app is incredibly flaky. My recommendation is to DO NOTHING for at least a week. 99.9% of the time the problem is on Audi's side and nothing you can do will affect it. Eventually, it will start working again on its own. For me, how good the app is for a car is at the bottom of my priorities list.

Last week, I finally got through to Audi customer service. They apparently had all kinds of technical specialists checking into this problem. Nobody could figure it out what was wrong. They eventually decided that I should make an appointment with the dealership, and that they should troubleshoot the ConBox. If the ConBox needed to be replaced, then they needed to open a TAC ticket. (I don't know what that means). My appointment was today, but mine started working again over the weekend, just like yours. I went ahead and kept my appointment, simply because I want to rule out that the car is the problem. Either way, if Audi knows that there is a problem with the Audi Connect accounts, and just covering it up, that leaves me with a trust issue with Audi. I am anxious to see what this diagnostic shows.
Did you ever get a resolution to this issue?

Problem solved. I was about to bring my eTron to Audi to have them look at this but decided, after reading all these threads, not to waste my time. Out of the blue I received an email from Audi Canada (I guess I had emailed them with the connection problems at some point). They asked me to look and see if the cellular data connection indicated 3G or LTE. I knew without looking that it was 3G but I went and checked anyway. Today it was showing LTE! No more ‘error connecting to data’ screen. News feed and weather now available in the MMI and the Audi app works - for the first time in 7 weeks!! Then I got a text from my rep suggesting that it might be working now because the problem has been (inexplicably) resolved for his other clients. So like someone here said, don’t do anything and one day it will start working. Now, I’m going to start the climate control remotely so I can leave in a warm car in 10 minutes!

Best answers is that it is working for now. I’ll explain:

I could be one of several things that I have done.

Firstly, my Audi Connect expired, while on the phone either the reps, I was told that there was a new link to renewal and that the old link did no work any more. I am pretty sure that he said that they are using a different carrier in 2023. It is now ATT, I think it was previously Verizon.

I was unaware of how to reboot the system and all this time, no one at Audi bothered to tell me. Apparently you should look at the VOLUME knob on the CONSOLE, there is an off switch on there. You can power off the system, and back on just like a computer.

Lastly, I discovered that if your satellite radio is not connecting, check your phone and make sure that it is connected to the car’s WI-FI. Then do internet searches on your phone. I’m guessing that this will force it to connect to the network. The radio will connect afterwards most of the time.

oddly, a combination of all of these, and it seems to be doing much better.

I'm confident that 9 times out of 10 complaints about "the app ain't working" is related to a mediocre data connection, from the phone or the car or both.

I live in an area with below average cell phone coverage. And my house is virtually a bunker, blocking all networks. The issue is resolved with a sort of wifi (VOIP) solution from my telecom provider (at first, I needed to go outside to make a call 😆).

Anyways, anytime I'm in a call and drive up my driveway I expect the connection to be bad or lost. And instead of a 4G connection, it drops to LTE or lower... Even though it says LTE, that doesn't mean the data connection is good. Connecting to my car can therefor take longer or even fails to connect, sometimes, depending from the wind direction. 🙃

I think you’re right about the mediocre data connection. But, it is still on Audi, I didn’t have a choice of carriers. I live in Seattle and we are one of the most connected cities in America. I shouldn’t be having connection problems. Shame on Audi if they accepted a substandard carrier just to be cheap.
