Hi

When I was handed over my Q4 I wasn't given a scratch card or keyring with my 10 digit vehicle code as such I'm finding it really difficult understanding how I'm supposed to actually connect my account to the vehicle MMI. I've contacted dealer who sent me a my vehicle activation form which I filled in and I've given consent in the app to AUDI dealership but I'm getting nowhere. Am I being thick is there simple way of logging in via email and password on the MMI. Been searching around and even read the manual but it's driving me mad. Anyone else have issues with this?

I'm assuming if I had the vehicle code then it's a smooth process! 🤦‍♂️

Feel like I'm missing something obvious

This must be very frustrating, what does your dealer say?

The 'scratch-off' vehicle code key fob is not unique to E-trons, all Audi's now have these. They should be handed to all owners of new Audi's, your dealer will know this and do it for new car deliveries every day.

If you are the owner of the car then you should insist that they provide the fob and if they have lost it then in my view the dealer should pick up the cost of a replacement.

Really frustrating, I contacted the dealer and they managed to set me up as key user on the app remotely however on the app no data appears and I don't think its connected to the vehicle properly. When I go into Users on the MMI it states no user assigned, indicates I need to connect to the vehicle with myAudi email address but after searching in the menu for ages I can't see where to select to actually log in, even read the manual. Feel like I'm missing something stupidly obvious??

Perhaps a visit to the dealer to have a chat with the salesperson who sold the car, get them to sort it out for you and collect the 'scratch-off' vehicle code key fob at the same time.

The process is a bit fiddly for individual users who only normally do this when they get a new car but for them it will be trivial.

It is pretty poor service that they didn't sort it out when you collected the car, this is normally part of the new car familiarization process at handover.

Yes I agree delivery driver was clueless but luckily I made him make a note that the code was missing on the handover sheet so they cant dispute me receiving it etc. I think your probably right a trip down to the dealer might be best option. So annoying.

FYI, the Audi TT & Q4 does not come with a scratch off code of any kind so you wont get one.

Download the App, create a MyAudi account etc & request that the Dealership makes you a "Key user".

Edit - Regarding the Log in on the MMI, this is also not possible on the Q4 at the moment (And has been that way since launch). An update allowing this was meant to be released last November but is yet to arrive & will require a dealer visit to install. Ridiculous I know

Thanks, made more confusing as it even shows the keyring scratch card on the MMI users section. I did manage to get my dealer to set me up as a key user on the App. However now when log into app it shows me as key user but literally shows NO information of the car whatsoever so I've had chat with Audi connect help desk team and sent them loads of screen prints, hopefully they will do their magic 🤦‍♂️

I got one of these, but apparently my dealer knew this and already keyed this info in. Whatever, my app is next to useless. Audi seem to be the Kings in excuses. As I have said before my other car which was half the price of the Audi, talked to my app and remote stuff worked.

I bought a used e-tron a few days ago and the dealer tried to add me as a key user on their system (there was no vehicle key or activation code provided) but it hasn't worked. I rang Audi customer services and they said when I get my V5 log book they'll send me a link in a text message to upload a photo of the V5 and my passport (for ID purposes) and they can add me as a key user from their end.

We are all getting bounced around by Audi, quoting ridiculous excuses. There should be one procedure and all concerned should know what that is and have specific guidelines/instructions.

It is poor, pathetic and not acceptable from a "so-called" Premium brand.

My car was taken into the dealer last monday to do hard reset involving de-energizing the car then starting again and still they cannot get me assigned in the car MMI as a key user and the car isnt talking to the app, with the app literally showing no information at all from the car, similarly the satellite map layer is still not turning on in the settings. They have now referred the case back to the digital team, which is where I was in the beginning. This is an absolute joke, how can the software on this car be so shite to manage, it needs an overhaul which is a shame because the car itself is fantastic and brilliant to drive. Im going to escalate with leasing company as defect as this is doing my head in as it feels like being given a cake without any icing on the top. Also I was interested in the Audi charging card but you need to be able to use the myAudi app for this which I cant currently use!. On the plus side I did my first fast charge yesterday and got 136 kw speed which was nice to see so at least it looks like I have the faster charging update installed. I hope no one else has the same issues similarly if anyone else has found a solution then please message me.

This is exactly where I am at with my car… it will not register me as a key user and therefore the app (and the Audi connect services) do not work. Dealer has down the reset and I’ve had it logged with Audi Digital for the 3 weeks that I’ve had the car (and they have no idea)

I’ve just sent an email to Andrew Doyle (Audi UK CEO) to ask what they are doing about it… I’ll let you know if I get a reply.

It’s just beyond poor from Audi

My app is rubbish. But I use the e tron charging card. It's a separate entity within your Audi account. Don't give up on that. This Audi is going in December for a smaller car, that is a brand new model and Google as it's main operating system. It just works.

Hi, I was going around in circles and claled into my Audi dealership and eventually spoke to someone in the parts department who was helpful, She advized me to do the following. I just called the number (after app was set up and I had the VIN) and Audi said they will mail me in two days with instructions to aceess the MMI/ APP as key user. They are no longer issuing new vehicle codes.:

  • Create My Audi account
  • Call 1877 505 2834
  • Provide VIN #
  • Log into account on App

just to update anyone following. Audi connect team had to escelate to a higher technical support team in Germany. They've now removed the old owner and I need to call (again) with my V5C and proof of identity to add the car to my audi profile (which didnt work.the first time hence excelation). Wish me luck..
