Here is my Siam Beige. I didn't like the color on any of the renders online so the dealer had a white on black ready for me to sign and drive. I saw this car while pulling in the dealer and whoa what is that? It's was so different to me and I knew it not many people would pick this color. Why not go with something different?

It arrived...after a 4 month delay. The new "horse in my barn". View attachment 2644 View attachment 2645
Do you still love it? Does it take very long to charge the battery? My car is coming in next week. The first dealer at Van Nuys Audi wanted to charge $10k over MSRP and told me that I misunderstood that they said they would not, now I am working with Carlsbad Audi and will get it at MSRP. I read that there is an Audi Association membership that cost $45 per year that would save $750 off the car, do you know very much about this?

Thanks

Do you still love it? Yes I love this car. Smooth, quiet, fast....and lots of great toys. On long trips, it's like driving a sofa. Much nicer inside than my previous Tesla Model S.

Does it take very long to charge the battery? It depends on a bunch of things: The remaining range at the start of charging, the % of battery range at the termination of charging, and the type of charging. In most cases, I plug in after driving a short distance (under 50 miles) and it takes 2-3 hours to charge up. However, here are all of your options, should you need a larger charge.

I generally don't get below 20% of remaining range, unless I'm on a road trip. I usually charge to 80%, per Audi recommendation. We'll use 20-80%. The battery size of the eTron is 95 KWh, with 86.5 KWh useful (The rest is used for anti-bricking, and to not allow for overcharging/lowering battery life). 60% of 86.5 KWh is 52 KWh.
Level 1 (120 volt 15 amp wall plug). 80% of circuit is 1.44 KW. Using this method, it would take 36 hours to charge 20-80%....not practical, but it could be done. This is NOT my normal way of charging.
Level 2 240 volt charging - and typically 30-40 amps. The on-board Audi charger can go up to 11 KW (45 amps/240 volts). This is what I use at home. I have a Flo EVSE (Electric Vehicle Service Equipment) that is 30 Amps, 240 volt = 7.2 KW. Using this, and going from 20-80% it takes just over 7 hours - so an overnight charge.
Level 3 HVDC charging at Electrify America, Chargepoint, and others. Using Plugshare/EA/Chargepoint/etc Apps, you will see that HVDC charging, using the CCS plug, ranges from 50KW to 350 KW, at different stations. The eTron can charge up to 150 KW. I like EA (because Audi drivers get some free charging, and almost all of the stations have multiple plugs, and 150KW+). Using 150 KW plugs, there is a small ramp up to full power, but I generally get 145 KW for most of the charge. 20-80% is around 25 minutes. For road trips, just perfect to use the facilities, and grab a snack/coffee.

I read that there is an Audi Association membership that cost $45 per year that would save $750 off the car, do you know very much about this? I'm one of those foreign Canadian folks....and it's not offered in Canada. I recall seeing something on this forum about a club discount. You may want to post it, as a separate post, and ask the forum.

Enjoy your new ride!

I fell in love with this car and put my dealer deposit down yesterday. Hopefully should get it early this week down in Tucson. Still not 100% sure on interior but I think black, not sure on accents. I went with the Chronos edition mainly because of the rims. I truly don't understand why companies insist on putting the ugliest possible rims on electric cars. It's truly baffling to me. I love the black ones on the Chronos though, so I'm glad I got one of the last ones in the Southwest.

Picked my Chronos up yesterday. Overall I love it, but thats not to say there weren't any issues. 1st, I had to wait an extra 2 weeks, which is frustrating but not a massive deal. Then we had a TON of issues getting my phone connected. After being at the dealership for almost 2 hours to pick it up I was over it at 5pm and said I'd figure it out when I got home. Mistake. I was using CarPlay to play music but thought id try one more time to use bluetooth so I unplugged the phone and nothing worked, no sound, volume greyed out. Then when I plugged my phone back in, even CarPlay wouldn't work. Same thing, no sound, no controls, it even made it so my phone wouldn't play music when I disconnected it. So I had a silent 2 hour drive home, which wasn't what I wanted, but the car was otherwise great. Fixed the issue after fully reseting my iPhone and knock on wood no further problems yet. I also HATE the majority of the driver assist features, so I turned most of them off (swerve assist, etc.). I will say the only feature I'm missing so far is the camera on the rearview cam (when move it slightly and the whole thing becomes a screen). I think thats a great feature in a lot of cars and for $85k+ the e-tron should have it. Here are some pics I took at the dealer. Happy to be part of a the e-tron gang
