I had ordered in December 2021 in Belgium and the initial delivery time was estimated to be end of January 2023. After I was not delivered any car in January, I was instead informed that this had been due to the option "electric seats". I was explicitly told that if I keep this option it won't go to production even in 2023!!!! Apparently they are incapable of supplying electric seats.

So I had no choice but to remove that option as I didn't want to wait at least one more year in addition to the 13 months which I had already done.

Anyway, now, one month later, I finally got a production week and the car is estimated to be at the dealership in Aalst, Belgium by the end of April. Fingers crossed this time!

Congrats! My order was without electric seats and that seems not to matter for the USA supply. I have been waking since October 2021 as I mentioned before. Here, the dealership never communicates anything. We are blinded moving forward with this painful process. Who knows when the car is going to be built. Trying to be patient here but nonetheless very frustrated.

Just had my “remove electric seat option” email from fleet. My car is delayed by at least Q4 23 or maybe later. Or we can POTENTIALLY reduce this ( no confirmation of a date maybe Q3 they say) if I accept a downgrade with no financial incentive..! What a Joke..! 🤬
Can’t even provide a confirmed date to reassure you of the sacrifice…

Is it true those who have accepted this, have had dates move then move again back to normal and therefore Audi haven’t kept their word and this is fake and pointless to accept. Is this a gimmick basically the question?

Ive been back and forth with Audi over this as I wanted to understand what is the expected recovery plan & length on the electric seats & memory function for seat and mirrors - initially told no idea first, then I asked for a rough guess and got 59 weeks 🤬. Feel like I’m backed into a corner and have no choice but joke that they won’t give an incentive of a free upgrade or reduced the cost.

Ploy to get us to cancel mate, it’s stinks of bull from start to finish..! What’s so difficult to Source ??? It’s a simple electric Motor that turns on a worm screw, no? Remove the memory part if it’s chip related. No one can tell me there’s a electric motor or metal worm screw shortage.!
They’re most likely made in Ukraine and they can’t be arsed to sort a new supply chain..!
I’m actually bored of moaning now! 😂

Interesting that I haven't heard anything from my dealer about the option to remove memory seats to speed things up. 4 months ago, I got info that doing any changes to order may risk even further delays. Already then he flagged for memory seats.

But since my first add-on was memory seat, I have no plans to remove it.

Now it becomes both about the money but also about the principle!
No way I am giving them easy way out. With fixed price on my order, I will wait until the bitter end. May it be 2024.

How come they can supply other Audis and Volkswagen models with memory seats?! It's about their priorities, and I can only read that they prioritise their earnings over customers.

Car companies have had POV (price over volume) strategy and Teslas price reduction did not budge European manufacturers. They stick to the strategy, milk your customers for as long as demand is higher than the supply.

I only struggle with acceptance that I need to decide on what car I should by now?!

I accepted the deletion of electric seats with a provisional date of April advised. Less than 48 hours after that they advised the provisional date had moved to September!

I now have a quote for a Polestar 2 (company lease car) so will give Audi one last chance to give me a confirmed build date which they will decline and then I will cancel my order.

I shouldn't say this on an Audi forum but I would go for the Polestar 2!

Since driving it last year I've fully converted now. In terms of design, build quality, general happiness (based on what I've read on the forums, no car is perfect but people definitely moan less on there) it seems it be a solid car. Especially if you can get the newly updated 2 with way more tech, features and range.

My last dealer update was in Feb saying he had no update and no build date.

I ordered a Vorsprung in March 22 then couldn’t wait and got a Taycan cancelled order. Still my wife wanted the Q4 as she won’t drive the Taycan so left the order in.

Have to say I’m appalled that Audi can’t even give people build dates and are deleting options without compensation and how long it’s taking (i am lucky that It’s only been a year). I also have no idea if there is a price increase from what i paid for it as they don‘t sell the Vorsprung.

Don’t get me wrong Porsche had their issues too (and have had issues with batteries and heaters) but think the wait times are still less and i see more Taycans on the road than Q4s !

Residual values have dropped so they have missed the boat i think and technology will move on so EVs will be dated and range will get much better.

May decide to cancel this order but given you can’t get the Vorsprung and they have accepted the order (so will build this car eventually) wonder if it‘s worth something to dealer.

I loved the way is drove, was just a little small in comparison for my golf bats !

The additional range on the MY24 car is a bit of a game changer and my aim is to order one if I can and bin the Q4

I believe the Polestar 4 is out this year too, probably a similar size to the Q4, also a newer Volvo XC40 (possibly the same platform). Interesting times!

Welcome mate

In the same boat but mine was ordered October 21 and is allegedly WK41. But I will believe that when I see it !

A few of us fleet drivers are waiting to see options from our employers. I have already asked about Model Y. Last time I checked Birmingham Tesla had plenty in stock ready to go !
Same here, ordered early October 21, and finally gave up after the 10th postponement, December 22. No regrets of having had the courage to cancel, except may be not having had the patience to play Audi's game and see how far they can go in excuses and option removals. A friend of mine ordered as well in October 21, on week 3 2023 (latest built date announcement) he received the information that his car "will be probably not be delivered in 2023 but mostly in early 2024". I mean, I'm speechless...

Like many here, I’ve also been given the option to downgrade the seats for an edition 1. Likely build week 27 or unknown if I don’t downgrade.

Not happy to say the least, especially as Audi has made no effort to apologise or offer anything to compensate (doesn’t even need to be a discount, maybe an alternative item instead!).

I’m also considering fully cancelling and picking the xc40 recharge, I can get the top spec twin motor for the same price but I’ll be at the back of the queue for that so not sure I’ll really gain anything.

BMW i4 35 and 40 are fine options. The i4 M50 has a 1.5 to 2 year waitlist. BMW is encouraging dealers to steer customers away from the i4 M50 to the i4 35 and i4 40. The Fisker Ocean is a fine option also.

Wheel Vehicle Tire Car Grille

Let us know if it arrives! reluctant to believe anything until the car shows up!
After 16 and a half months, we finally have a Q4 on the drive! Admittedly not the one we originally ordered (the unicorn Vorsprung), but really happy with it 🙂. It has been a rollercoaster of a ride, and most of it really not enjoyable. Audi did redeem themselves in the end by finding me this one, but the whole experience has left a bit of a bad taste. I hope if you are still waiting, your build weeks get confirmed soon 🤞
