Last update: I received my Q4 on Thursday (9th of March - so waited for 524 days). Delivery was ok, not a single excuse for the lack of communication or the delays, just half-smiles saying "you waited for a long time". It's bittersweet because the car is nice (Q4 40 S-Line) but clearly lacks features for a car of that price and that waiting time (no rear camera, MMI not working well with iPhone already, no blind spot indicator, ...). On the positive side, heated front seats are there (read on this forum that Audi was removing them), autonomy seems good (about 450km with 1 to 6C outside) and it is very comfortable.

Good luck to all those who are still waiting!

Yesterday (Friday March 4), I received a letter from the leasing company saying the car arrived at the dealership, the car plates are sent and will be at the dealership in 2 working days. What a surprise!

So not only Audi didn't bother telling me, despite (because of?) numerous interactions in the past, it's the leasing company that sent a letter (by snail mail!), and the message arrived faster than Audi ... I e-mailed the dealership to arrange for pick-up and it will be on Thursday morning. I couldn't get more info if the few options I asked will indeed be there but I will check ... crossing fingers ...

Like many here, I’ve also been given the option to downgrade the seats for an edition 1. Likely build week 27 or unknown if I don’t downgrade.

Not happy to say the least, especially as Audi has made no effort to apologise or offer anything to compensate (doesn’t even need to be a discount, maybe an alternative item instead!).

I’m also considering fully cancelling and picking the xc40 recharge, I can get the top spec twin motor for the same price but I’ll be at the back of the queue for that so not sure I’ll really gain anything.
For my case, they offered an extra option more or less equal to the price of electric seats which I was forced to remove. I went for 'Comfort Key'.

Has this thread died because everyone has got their Q4’s other than me…? 😂 on a serious note, anyone had an update on their build week after changing to the 21st century manual seats?
I did. I changed the order to the modern manual seats on 1st of Feb. Received an update first week of March that the car is gonna be delivered at the end of April. I suppose the build week is Week 1 of April.

Noooo, I’m still here unfortunately! 😂 had a lengthy call with the Audi dealer yesterday and refused to compromise. More so as mines a Vorsprung and won’t downgrade with no incentive and certainly not without a drastically increased lead which he couldn’t give. It’s a no from me I said then and he says end of 23 could be early 24 realistically.

Rolled off loads of examples of how poor this has been dealt with and tbf he couldn’t really defend them.
I don’t know, just think it’s another excuse to delay you and make you cancel? In a real dilemma what to do as LEX aren’t bothered to help as they feel it’s AUDI’s issues not theirs? 😳. 2 years wait for me whatever I do..!

Phew 😂! That’s a joke, considering you’ve ordered the top spec too, I mean why would you do that haha! I went deeper into the conversation too about reducing the cost of the car and they told me removing the electric seats, and the memory seats - oh yeah and the memory feature for the mirrors too, won’t change the price as they want to maintain a competitive market price for the model - doesn’t make sense, they want to strip features out of the car 🤷‍♂️. It’s not like you have an alternative either. As I was having this conversation at my local Audi, a transporter rocked up full of brand new Q8 etrons…… no comment 🤐

I’m considering upgrading to a Q8 e-tron 50, as lead times seem shorter.

16 weeks I was told, as I asked too..! It’s out of my bracket though.. 😩
Yeah, they say production in Q2 for the 50 variant. Hence, delivery expected by July. Salesman seemed confident about lead times for the first time in months.

Price is indeed a bit higher. Great looking car, just like the Q4 to be honest as I like both. The interiors though are on another level --and quite frankly it's what justifies the price difference.

I would recommend to try and configure a Q8 e-tron online. The price is higher but a lot of options come standard or in packages. I would personally be happy with selecting only the two main packages and nothing else, while I had to spec out my Q4 quite considerably.

Audi deprioritized parts for the “A3” line (A3/Q3/Q4) and prioritized their A5/A7 lines..

VAG, like every other company, are prioritizing highest margin versions of products. That's why, in Canada, only the 50kW version is available and you have to order the Progressiv plus Technik options if you want any chance of delivery. Audi would far rather sell a maxed out Q4 than an ID4. That's the deal when there is supply constraint.

There is no way it's 16 weeks for a Q8. I think this is Audi dealers lying again.
Yeah, thought about that after writing it. He said that though, wasn’t too bothered as I won’t be in one.
Doubt it too, however parts might not be made in Ukraine unlike Q4? But i agree with you pal, another load of Bull from Audi probably.!

And standard heat pump from this year (at least in some markets)…. It’s not only expensive to get it on the Q4, but due to shortages Q4s with heat pumps aren’t even being produced. At the same time they thought it would be a great idea to include it in all ID4s
That's wrong, all Q4 in Sweden have heat pumps, and I also know people in other markets recently collected cars with heat pump.

When were they produced? Cars are not produced instantly and not shipped instantly. It takes time after Audi starts eliminating heat pumps for that to mainifest itself at the dealer level.
