My original delivery date was in July 2022 but when I asked in June they said it was delayed until February 2023. Its been quite frustrating when so many cars are delivered in half the time. I have wondered why ours is taking so long...

I’m not disagreeing with anything in this thread, but notice more than one comment suggesting ‘at this price point’. To compare prices you have to compare like for like, the price points for a BEV versus an ICE are very different and are as such aren’t directly comparable.

Don’t forget the BEV has a £10,000 (guess) battery — so take that into account when comparing the trim level and standard options you may have been used to. So fairer comparison might be a £45,000 ICE versus a £55,000 EV.

Just to add to the delivery conversation, AUDI Q4 E-TRON ESTATE (2021) 150kW 40 82.77kWh S Line 5dr Auto [C+S/Tech Pack] ordered in March, delivery date flipped between Feb and March 23 about a dozen times and this morning I was told 31st July 23.

Thanks for the info about the rear light bar, I didnt know that! Or about the rear vents.

I guess delivery is something you can't blame Audi for, although I understand Tesla's is shorter. I also assume it is based on the model, country spec. and extras ordered. I have no idea how people manage a car swap 16 months in advance.

Up side might be that by then, some things have been sorted. On the other hand, there will be other new cars to choose from.

When my dealer offered to 'negotiate' (no terms suggested) the return of my Q4, he quoted 2nd quarter 2023 (at begining of September) for a new delivery but did say it might change.

You could try ordering a Q4 45, if avalable in your country?

I've had my Q4 S-line 35 since June and think it is just fantastic - previous car an Audi A3 Quattro 2.0TDi. The Q4 is simply a better car and one I waited 10 months for. So to the comments...

I bought the car via a lease company and that means, you have to do your homework because they won't. At the same time, the dealers were and are poorly trained to sell the Q4 with little knowledge about the packs or the lack of functionality e.g. light bar not working without the metric lights. I even went into a dealer (after ordering) and was told it did work only to insist on a demo with the standard LED lights for us both to see that it did not!

From a spec perspective, if Audi want to do this then perhaps they could just list all the extras and if you manage to pick the right 'pack' elements you get a pack discount. That way we get to add anything ww want - ideally with some sort of marker to advice on extended delay if picked ;)

Personally, I'd ditch the dealers as they are costly and don't, in my experience, offer any value added benefits to the brand. Use the money saved to put back some of the quality finishes downgraded in the Q4. Then just be honest with us, the customer. Tell us about delays with a reason and a revised ETD.

As I say, love my Q4 and even the app, but appreciate fully the comments in the post by @anthonye and others.

My dealer also did poor job in explaining climate control. When discussing addons I was told that 3-climate adds control in the back. I do not need control in the back and decided to skip it. But once I got home and studied it more carefully I also noticed that standard is 1-zone! So no vents in the back but also no temp controll for passenger seat! So I called him and added it the day after. This is for me the most dissapointing part, that Audi Q4 has 1-climate control as standard. At least is so in Sweden.

@admiralQ4 I think it is everywhere that 1 zone is a standard. I believe the second zone should have been a FOD subscription but since they are not ready for FOD at all it's now a completely forgotten option.

@thebb I believe the packs are not thought out for clients but rather to standardise as much as possible the production. They rather have you take extra options than to set specific ones that will lengthen their processes.

Last but not least I wonder why adding vents in the back is not possible. I just had a look in my car and it seems that the back part of the armrest can easily be taken out and replaced by one with a vent. I have seen on internet people doing it on their Macan. Dealers should be able to offer this but it is probably €€ $$ ££

I think that's one of my major issues here, the dealers know nothing and it's like...they should really know this?! It might be related to the sheer number of cars that Audi make but then again I had a Mercedes and Volvo test drive and the dealers knew so much about those cars - and those brands still make a lot of cars. It's probably just bad planning and briefing on Audi's part, I mean I can't imagine that as a dealer you would be happy knowing nothing about the cars you sell but if head office doesn't send you anything what can you do 😂

I'm leasing too, if I had brought I think I would be pretty annoyed right now with how all of this has panned out in terms of features and (lack of) software updates but here's hoping they learn their lesson. I'm a little worried that Audi won't release a single update for my car over the next three years which I think would be pretty unacceptable.

That's very true, I look at the Q4 as an electric Q3 as I read that it was around £10,000 extra for the battery. Maybe that's changed, I'm not sure. I should probably go check if the Q3 has an optional reversing camera too (edit, nope no camera either 😆).

360 camera can be retrofit but the cost is obscene
I have the rear camera. I only need the front one for it to work. Anyway will not spend this much on this.

Btw I look at the configurator in France and the 360 camera cannot be added as an option (not even in a pack)

I'm in Canada and ordered a 2023. It states as standard equipment, LED tail lights with illuminated light strip and dynamic indicators. The light sequencing is additional in the tech pack. Are you guys saying the illuminated light strip in the image is not active? That's like a major design element of the Q4. I'm amazed how different the packaging is between US & Canada.

I think you will be ok. I am in the US and have this middle strip illuminated. I have one of the lower trims and no matrix light option. I expect this part is different in North America. So far I am seeing this off for Switzerland and UK if they don’t have a certain package.

This is also off in Finland if you don't have Matrix lights so I think it might be a Europe 'feature'.
