If not having tri climate means no rear vents at all then the Audi dealer should for sure say that. I can't say anything regarding the tri climate because it was standard for me but when I was ordering my Q4 the dealer went through all the options and told me the light bar was only with matrix lights... the dealers should be more responsible, they should have better communication when ordering the car. That seems to be down to luck though... if the dealer is good with communication.

Not good service if they don't explain the pros and cons of each extra.
The two dealerships that I dealt with (UK) were both completely useless. One said "Oh, you seem to have done your research" and then proceeded to offer zero help or information about the £52K car I was about to buy. The other dealership's receptionist seemed to know more about the car than any of the sales guys. I mean, what is the job function of these idiots?

Yeah, it does make me wonder what the point of the dealer is. For me I might have got lucky with a sales guy who was quite enthusiastic about the car and so did his homework but that should be a prerequisite for the job surely...?

I’m not disagreeing with anything in this thread, but notice more than one comment suggesting ‘at this price point’. To compare prices you have to compare like for like, the price points for a BEV versus an ICE are very different and are as such aren’t directly comparable.

Don’t forget the BEV has a £10,000 (guess) battery — so take that into account when comparing the trim level and standard options you may have been used to. So fairer comparison might be a £45,000 ICE versus a £55,000 EV.
Yeah, I did that exercise.. I found that I could by a better spec'd Q3 for £10K less and at one point a better spec'd Q5 (If you like diesels).:sneaky:
Well, with a recession on its way and a collapsing new car market, Audi need to wake up and stop relying on brand loyalty. I keep seeing ad's for the Fisker Ocean. I'm liking the look of that a lot. Audi beware.

I have 19" tyres which are not run flat or self sealing. The dealer did eventually tell me that I could buy an optional Audi compressor and tyre sealant kit for about £320 but he added that it didn't work very well. I decided, in that case, I could buy a can of the same sealant for £12.

Surely its a direct comparison, when you buy the BEV you don't get the ICE engine, gearbox and all the peripherals. I bet all those bits add up to about £10k. Seems to me the motor industry has fed this line and everyone believes it.

The 360° system has four cameras in total: front, rear, and one for each wing mirror. I think there is also an additional control unit required for the extra image processing.
Has anyone that has received their MY2023 Q4 looked under their wing mirrors to see if there is a camera plug underneath that looks similar to the one under the front rings, something to fill in where a camera would fit shown in the picture below?
Even if one purchased the retrofit 360 cameras, there would need to be a hole in the wing mirror housing.

Additionally, the rear camera that is part of the 360° system is NOT the same as the one you get otherwise.

This kit replaces the mirrors, rear camera, etc

I would tend to agree a bit here, other brands seem to be giving you a bit more for your money, I know EV's are 10k more but I think certain premium brands like Audi see this as an opportunity to upsale more options.

Its unfortunately not a direct comparison. The equivalent part for a ICE vehicle when it comes to the battery, being the fuel tank will cost under £10 per vehicle for the OEM, where as the battery is both prohibitive in its material composition, assembly methods and final cost.

An EV is not much cheaper or simpler than an ICE motor with both types needing most of the 12V ancillaries, a gearbox, cooling system etc.

-edit-

To add context, I dont want to simply chirp the motor industries rhetoric. Simply my observations since designing machinery to assemble OEM EV's since 2013.

Can someone please measure the length indicated in these photos sent by a vendor on AliExpess? Their factory is offering to design a set of gas struts and fittings for the Q4 e-tron similar to what they already sell for the VW ID.4.
I looked at my car and I wouldn't use the locations that you've circled. The sheet metal is way too flimsy at those points. The best that I can tell is that it may be possible to use the following circled point instead:
Vehicle Grille Automotive lighting Hood Automotive tire
The struts from AliExpress seem like they may be too long. You might be better off buying something universal.

The measurement to the circled spots from your original photo is about 16.25" (41.3cm)
The measurement to the circled spot that I recommend is about 17.5" (44.5cm)

Thanks for the photo. I'm still waiting for my car. The AliExpress guy sent photos, so I really appreciate your insights. Now I think they don't know what they're doing. Thanks for the dimensions. I'll think of the universal strut.

6 months down the line (71/2 since delivery) since my original posting - this thread drifted a little but I am putting it back now - my original complaints still stand, with not a single communication from Audi, the Importer or the Dealer.

What has happened is that, from this forum, I have learnt a great deal about what is wrong and the slim chances of the issues being addressed.

I have reassed my Q4 ownership, the alternatives and the rank of my car's problems. Those issues that are fixable and near the top of the list, are all software based; that means Audi could solve them in a timely manner, if they so wished.

Today I recontacted my Dealer to ask what he will fix; this is his response:
"Since our last email, there are no updates, that we can tell you.
The first update for the Audi Q4 is announced in 1-2 weeks in switzerland.
Since the start of updates is usually postponed, we always wait until they are actually online, before we communicate it."

I have, however, been invited to their weekend party to launch the Q8. I am clearly one of their best prospects to buy another Audi!

Likewise I gave up on receiving any support or fix for issues that exist on the car.

The car itself is not bad and whilst the software issue is poor, what makes it appalling is Audis response.

Im not expecting Audi to do anything at this stage and over half way through my 3 year deal, Im just going to live with it for another 18 months.

But at that stage, I will categorically never buy an Audi again.

Back to BMW for me.
