Q4 software versions

Hi,
I think it would be interesting for people to share their software versions and share if they have some bugs/features/annoyances specific to those releases.

My Q4 shows:
Softwareversion3608
MMI softwareversionrelease-35.12-2113-SNAPSHOT-29.03.021-13:43:23
MediadriverCL35_MIB3MH_AU_ER_G4x_2101300PROD-1
Gracenote-databaseRegion=EUROPE - Version=8
HardwareH89A035043
SoftwareversionMHI3_ER_AUASUV_P3608

Two minor annoyances:
1) The privacy splash-screen at startup cannot be disabled (says I'm a guest user). This should be fixed in the november update afaik.
2) My clock has twice reset itself to 1970. At that point I cannot enable the automatic time synchronization, it disables itself whenever I activate it. The clock will correct itself a few restarts later.

Has anyone had their software updated after delivery, and to what versions?

About time.
If and when this improves my paid-for, non-working software, then I will applaud.

But then again, is this just another Audi false promise!

As far as I can tell, this outfit employs 5,000 people and is part of VW. Is it too much to ask if a handful of them fix the Q4, while the others do heaven knows what?

Given the importance of computer software in today’s BEV’s, this software fiasco is clearly an epic fail by the VWAG. It is just mind boggling that it takes VWAG and Audi 3 years and counting to fix their screwed up software after it was released. Plus they probably spent one year designing it before releasing it for production. How can VW Audi software engineers work on the software for 4 years and be so screwed up and not fixed?

VW leads the world in epic failures in car manufacturing. This software fiasco is second only to VWAG cheating on diesel emissions for years. These epic failures are rooted in a witches brew of VWAG cheapness, grossly incompetent software engineers, and incredibly poor management. Meanwhile Audi is so unbelievable inept that they can’t even provide parts for warranty repairs in a reasonable time frame.

Audi what is point of trumpeting your future BEV’s if you can’t provide working software, warranty parts, and customer support for the current Audi BEV’s? Audi is run by absolute idiots.

The saddest thing is that new cars have the latest version of the software since last year and cars 2 years old still don't.

If you compare the Hyundai/Kia car software, you will see what the electric car software should look like. Audi infotainment looks like the version for ICE cars, only someone corrected the litres per kWh consumption :) The software has nothing to do with the electric car (stats, equipment consumption overview, etc.). Navigation shows current traffic only on selected roads, sometimes deletes favourite destinations or poorly navigates. Overall, Audi has not done a good job at all, they should look at the USA or Asia producers and see what software for EV cars should look like.

The Audi MMI software is growing stale at a time when other BEV manufacturers are pouring resources into BEV software and their apps. This is attributable to VAG software gross incompetence and extremely poor management by VAG and Audi.

Software is Achilles heel of Volkswagen and Audi BEVs. The ID4 software is unbelievably horrible. Audi MMI software is stale. Software support and upgrades are way below expectations and that of BMW and MB. People that bought the Q4 starting in 2020 up to 2022 are stuck with software with issues. Given VAG multibillion investment in BEVs they had great foresight. However that investment is being degrading by software gross incompetence and poor customer service.

This all comes at a time when in the US the Q4 does not benefit from the $7,500 tax credit and Tesla has reduced prices. The Tesla Model Y is a much better value than the Q4 and its build quality is improving. Audi has serious issues and headwinds.

I read that VW has fired it's Cariad (VW's software subsiduary) Board. Those responsible, higher up, of course remain. Unfortuneately this does not help me and my Q4 right now.

However, I went for a test drive in the new BMW iX1. Like for like it is cheaper and has all the missing Q4 items on it, plus more.

I therefore asked my Audi Dealer for a refund proposal.

Today he informed me that the first wave of updates has started and that he has 2 customer cars on the list that they can update. Mine will be in the next wave. I have asked for a time frame since, with past experience, this could be months/ years away.

As far as I know, the update brings very little, the question is whether there will be new bugs in the software that aren't there now.
Of course I had to chase up my Dealer for a response. In this he informs me that there are 2 different updates. The two he has seen so far are of the same type; mine could turn out to be either.

The one update involves: Integration of the Plug & Charge function, Integration of wireless "over-the-air" interface, Integration of extended theme worlds in the MMI and General bug fixes. He doesn't have any further details.

As far as a refund is concerned, he is still working on that but it would only be a trade in price, if at all. And this is of his own initiative not Audi's.

He asserts that there is no legal basis for Audi to take the car back at full price.

And then crowns all these Audi failures with: 'You have a reliable vehicle that is on the road with the latest technology'.

Yes and I am Elvis!

Oh and still no time frame.

It is frustrating, my Audi App in my Q4 has never worked since I got the car in June 22. Its in the dealers at the moment getting a software update but I don't think it will fix anything, no confidence in the software which is a shame because the car is so good to drive.

Once there is an app, there will definitely be other problems :) for example, connecting to servers often drains the 12 volt battery in competing cars when the doors are not closed or the car is not locked.
This is the official statement ... Software update: Audi offers new, high-value features for the Audi Q4 e-tron

I wonder when the update will be available for the early Q4s like mine (September 2021). I'm certainly not holding my breath.
My car was registered November 2021 and no sign of the update. Thankfully my dealer is checking regularly and keeping me informed.
Mine is a Dec 2021 (took delivery March 22) and its booked in with my Audi dealer for the software update in a couple of weeks. They said it would need 2 days
I am glad that Audi is finally making progress in addressing software issues for the early buyers of the Q4. Audi should do the right thing and just speed up the whole process and get the software ugliness fixed as soon as possible especially since it has been lingering out there for such a long time. Audi show the world that you actually care about your clientele!
Audi now has to move to update software past 3812 to improve charging curve

most reports here and elsewhere of charging at 75-80 is just not acceptable

that means it significantly limits the range and use especially for road trips

Well, I'm pleasantly surprised, after 11 months of waiting, I have finally got access to the MyAudi app, its working!! The software update actually worked! Also my MMI now has the weather, news, and calendar tiles and the Google satellite layer works on the sat nav (all missing before). Can't believe it, I thought I would never see the day.

The MMI also seems more responsive in general.

I hope this gives hope to anyone else suffering with software issues for as long as me.

Just finished a long conversation with an Audi Customer Service rep here in the States. After checking with their Tech Dept. she told me that the software updates that are occurring in Europe have not started in the US. She used my VIN to search the status of my '22 Q4 50 Prestige. No word on when to expect the 3812 software to replace my 3669. She actually referred to replacing my 2.3 with 3.2.
