Q6 First Service

I would always take my vehicle to where I purchased it for any type of service. Unless I was travelling and the vehicle needed immediate service. Then you don’t really have an option.

Here’s why. Years ago I purchased a new vehicle from an out of town dealer because his price was thousands less than my local dealer. Then I had a problem so I thought the local guy would fix under warranty. Sure he would. But he also inconvenienced me as much as possible saying our local customers are our priority. They had my vehicle for a few weeks for a one day repair. I complained to the corporate customer service and they said as long as they fix it they are following the terms of the warranty.

I’m fortunate that servicing is included in my lease. However it is interesting to look at the very significant differences between comparable service costs across VAG cars/platforms, at least in the UK. Q3 service was around 60% more than a VW Tiguan service and Q4 service is almost double a Skoda Elroq service. Basically the same platforms
I think Porsche customers have it even worse. But they have to pay for the nice lounges and cappuccino makers. My dealer has a coffee machine.

Agreed, but to be fair I got a very nice coffee and biscuits (cookies!) when I was looking at the Skoda Elroq. Far better than VW or Audi ever gave me. Bean to cup with real milk!!
Was going to be sensible with this car as I really don’t need anything the size, power and cost of the Q6 but you only live once!!
Those of you in the UK have a nice collection of vehicles that are not available in Canada. It’s great to have choices.

You just proved how cheap some of the members are when it comes to servicing their cars at the Audi dealer. I understand that, outside the warranty period, one wants to take it to one's own trusted mechanic or DIY. But for a brand-new vehicle still under a 3-year 60k miles warranty 🤷‍♂️🤦
I don’t know if that’s the reason. It could be they feel so violated by the vehicle and the dealer that they don’t want their dealer to get another cent, penny or centavo out of their hands.
