Now that more people have taken delivery of the Q6 & SQ6, more people are sharing their thoughts and not just issues related to their car.

It would make it much easier for people to post or find help if people only post about faults or issues on your car, you do not need to post that they don't have any issues!

I will create a new thread for Q6 & SQ6 General Chat ( linked below )

__

Now that we have started to see delivery of the Q6 & SQ6, I thought it would be a good idea to have a place to share issues, fixes and known issues.

When you post an issue, include the model/ trim for example : Q6 E1, Q6 SLine

What error codes and warnings you get
When did it start

- Myaudi app has me set as a key user, but in the car it doesn't have any key users set. The MMI tells me to follow instructions in my Audi app. The My Audi app says follow instructions on the MMI

-Resolved: By adding the car again in the app. Top left + car details off Audi connect card.
It amazes me that dealers are willing to hand over a new car without bothering to set all this stuff up for the customer and provide at least a brief tutorial on using it. As a buyer you are certainly within your rights to ask for this.

I had mine delivered from the dealer to my home, the delivery driver left very quickly. BUT. My contact from Audi finance team then called me from inside another Q6, and spent a good hr or so going through some of the features and functions, buttons etc.

I got in the first evening to go for a drive out to
A country pub and was met with a yellow warning message. “Drive system fault, limited performance consult workshop” …. This was quickly followed by a red warning message saying “do not drive manoeuvre only….”. So I got out locked the car, left it 5 mins, came back turned it on and all was fine……really not sure what happened and why, and although it’s all good now with no action taken its left a niggling doubt m. Also made me realise I don’t have a phone number for Audi Assist?

Have you set up Audi charging? Fairly easy in the app. But haven’t set up auto charge yet as sometime Electroverse offers slightly cheaper rates.

And did you set up “automatic user information” ?

Here’s Audi assist number 0330 1003375, I wasn’t given any Audi assist info other than what they cover and told to press the button.

My dealership were good, they just haven’t had enough experience with the car to teach you everything. They had a training session in Windsor with no actual car! Yeah right!!!

I’ve had a few warnings…

Car not safely parked came up on the app ( it was, and corrected itself after 5 minutes)

Window open - it wasn’t! ( this also corrected itself after an app refresh).

Car would go into privacy mode- not talking to the myAudi app. I worked out that key user setup hadn’t worked correctly and now resolved this.

But, it drives amazingly well so far. It’s feels safe and solid. And the screen and amount of info you get is amazing.

although trying to charge you £5 a month to give you presets for your sound system! Err no.
Did anyone explain to you what data is included for the passenger screen?

Hi. Sort of. I set up Audi charging and the card has now come through tho post, I think that’s just to use at Audi chargers ( please correct me if I’ve misunderstood). My app won’t let me install a certificate ( not really sure what’s that for). But have charged whilst out and about innnornal AC chargers which was so easy with contactless payment…

You get Audi Charging Pro Tariff for a year, that includes special rates at Ionity chargers, which is administered by Elli. Looking at the PDF Ionity is 53p and other DC that takes Audi Charging card is 69p

Currently reported issues on other forums & early adopters :

Plug & Charge - Unable to complete the authentication certification ( Tickets have been raised with Audi)

Digital Key - Although this is showing in the MMI, it is not yet fully baked. Apple have announced that Audi will soon have digital key in the Apple Wallet. Audi have told users Android & Apple that the feature is coming soon. You can currently use the Myaudi app to lock and unlock.

My edition 1 has just arrived and really happy with it especially the decision to pay for the upgrade with the red stitching as it just breaks up the interior a lot more.

my car was delivered by a leasing agent who did not have a clue about setup so I have been slowly working through everything however I have a few minor points I am struggling on.

  • I noted in reviews one pedal driving was available - but the car always creeps forward for me.
  • has anyone been able to save the regen setting as every time I get in the car I find I have to pull the left level to get it to the highest setting.
  • parking brake - there does not appear to be an auto option as everytime I go to get out of the car I have to press. I know its minor but all my previous cars did this.
  • Myaudi app - everything seems to be working in that I can open/close the car etc. However the car wont start off my phone.

Thanks for any advice.

Hope you are enjoying your new car!

Yes the one pedal drive does creep as soon you move that foot, and I also haven't found an auto park break. I will ask my friends on the German forums who have had the cars a few months.

With the regen, I did read somewhere that you need to have less than 100% charge for it to work correctly but I will have a look on mine today.

Audi are currently working to implement Digital Key using the CCC Digital Key standard. Although this is in the MMI it's not fully functional yet. And the Audi app has basic functions. Audi have told some owners that reported Digital Key not working that this will be updated soon to work. I noticed that Apple have also now put code into iOS for it to be put into wallet so it's coming soon.

I’ve had that one flash up and eventually self clear. For a bit if time the traffic recognition were also in Km/hr!!! Then it reset and was fine.. still trying to figure out if I did something.

More worrying is on Sunday afternoon, going down the A1, I got an alarm to say front right wheel bolts were loose. I checked and they were not quite as tight as the other 3 wheels but not loose… of course it was raining😡. Also wondering which sensor is capable of identifying marginally loose bolts!!! Might be worth you checking….

No other issue to report.

Ohme charger now working ok, when I checked the wiring in the fuse board the current coil had been fitted to the wrong cable, so was constantly showing 0A !!!! Now happily charging at 7.3kw.

in other news I did charge on the super fast dc chargers at Woodall services …. Omg they are quick. Started charging at 270kw/hr then stabilised at about 180. In the time it took to buy a sandwich I had topped up 20kw and was back on the road. Bit pricey, but definitely helps with easing any range concerns….

As I understand it, but mode is best for around town as it provides one pedal driving. When on higher speed A roads, dual careiage ways and motorways, you want to be in drive, as the energy required to get back up to speed is greater than that if the regen, so coasting is preferable.

😂😂

No im not brave enough to try self park yet…

if you get it in the in the right position and hold down the button on the tailgate for 5 seconds, you get a little bleep and it’s learn the new open position… simple, but very handy

also found the little icon ( top right) of the camera screens gives really wide angle view.. great for pulling out of a blind junction with long bonnet…it effectively looks sideways…

Bjorn Nyland played around with self park in a couple of videos (on YouTube). It worked for him, but wasn't as good as hoped. It did OK if you were going between two cars that were straight in the space. If you tried to park where there were only lines, or the cars were not straight, it tended to have issues.

MyAudi App displaying Km instead of Miles.

My App shows Km instead of miles, the car displays miles. If I change the app to miles (Settings > Units) then I notice an odd behaviour which is that in the car still shows miles but now the speed warnings are in km. E.g. it detects a speed sign or assumes the speed limits are in Km and so i get a warning at about 15mph in a 20mph zone. if I return the app to km then the car goes back to normal and shows miles, detects in miles but the app shows km.

hope that makes sense, anyone else resolved this?

I noticed this when I first got my car, but has now corrected itself. In fact most of the odd things happening seem to have resolved, not sure if it was due to some sort of software update. When I first opening some systems it thought I was in Germany lol. If you are still getting the issue get your dealership to register a ticket with Audi. Reporting issues to Audi will be the only way to get them resolved.

I had to bring my Q6 e-tron quattro into the workplace yesterday. The MMI got disconnected from the internet a few days ago (in fact I am pretty sure it lost connection when I crossed the border from Italy to France) and we (me and the dealer expert) have been unable to get it back online. Since certain onboard functions only use the e-sim data connection (and do not seem to use a wifi connection) the following problems occured:
  1. navigation does not show traffic information
  2. navigation does not show occupancy of the chargers
  3. navigation does not find POIs
  4. the battery and charging status is not accessible externally (so not in the myAudi App, nor via Enode)
  5. the climate control, door (un)lock, windows open/closed, etc is not accessible
UPDATE: just received a call from the dealer, the issue has been resolved by resetting the OCU (I guess it stands for Onboard Connection Unit ;)) by removing and reinserting some fuses. The bigger issue should be resvolved in the next software update. Will pick up the car after lunch and see.

1st day niggles.
Although I was careful to agree to all of the privacy policies and to enable the onboard data, myAudi lost connection with the car within a few hours.
I thought I'd go back to basics and run through the entire process end to end as I created the key user ahead of completing those steps.
First of all I attempted to delete the key user. Although the user was removed from the screen, I kept getting prompted to delete it again, and yet it wasn't there to delete. At this point I couldn't add the user back in either, so I figured it was time for a factory reset.
After the reset I connected my phone to the car first, accepted all of the privacy policies and then went to setup the onboard data connection, only that option was no longer available. I switched off and locked the car and left it for a few minutes, but still nothing!
At this point I thought I'd go ahead and create the key user again to link the car with the myAudi App, which worked without issue. After this point I could see the onboard data option again, so I scanned the QR code which took me to the Vodafone page which told me that my subscription ends today and to contact my dealer to reanable it! At this point I locked the car and went back in the house, opened the myAudi App, only to see that the connection was lost again, no doubt because of the lack of onboard data connection.

Sorry to hear you are having issues, and had a similar issue to me although we solved it in different ways. It seems when the dealer sets you up as a key user it doesn't seem to complete the process. I wasn't even able to be away from the car more than few minutes before it lost all my settings. For me when it kept asking for me to delete the key users it was because the key user is still in the app.

When you go through the set up wizard just log in on the MMI and then in the My Audi App top left , I just added the car again with the details of the Audi connect card and some how it worked. Not sure how..

I created a new key users by my data license came back with 12 months, I left it over the weekend and noticed its now given me a license for 3 years. But I have been able to hold a data connection.

I hope you manage to get it sorted quickly, and I get we will have issues with a new product. But the lack of communication niggles me considering how long they have been working on the car and its software.

I'm still waiting for my Q6 Ed1 Quattro in Daytona, pano roof, frunk and towbar, but to be honest I'm now wondering if it was a good choice! My wife's Tesla MY has none of these issues, it just works and has done without issue for 2 years and 25k miles. The last Audi I had was back in 2013, sounds like they've gone backwards!!

Some issues i'm having:

MMI & App setup
Probably the most complicated setup experience I've ever had, going back and forth between the myAudi app and the MMI with no clear guidance from either as to what the correct setup sequence is. I'm still not sure I've got everything working 'properly', it would be helpful for audi/someone smarter than me to put together a documented process.
The MMI says it doesn't need an update but I'm putting the version here to check with you guys:
Image

Connectivity
I connected the car to wi-fi but unclear if it's using it or LTE, both icons are present. I've tried to follow the steps in the MMI to register for mobile data, seems to take me to this third party site: Automotive Portal. However the site doesn't recognise my VIN number so unable to proceed any further with the setup.

My last car just had a sim-card port in the armrest, anyone know if this car has something similar?

Sound
I have the "premium" sound system and to be honest i'm a bit underwhelmed. The sound quality varies dramatically depending on the source, I think the worst is DAB radio, seems like the software is applying some EQ to the signal and completely kills the bass. Even FM radio sounds better than DAB. I've checked the settings and the "quality" is set to high, not sure what else to try..
At the moment I have the bass and subass eq set to max and it's acceptable at normal listening volume. If i put the levels back to medium it's like listening to something on a phone. I also turned off the headrest surround speakers as they only seem to be tweeters with a very high pass filter on them.

Systems Issues
The only persistent issue I'm having is that the car seems to be stuck "Initialising active front assist", see picture. This warning has been in place since initial setup, unclear what it's supposed to be doing or how to fix it.

Doors
The doors seem really reluctant to close fully. They feel really heavy, but they don't close under their own weight, they need to be almost slammed shut. I've had to reclose the doors every time i've used the car but maybe I just need to get used to using a lot of force. Haven't quite figured out the keyless entry routine yet (with key in pocket), only working for me some of the time but maybe i'm doing something wrong.

Other Observations
The steering column not being electrically adjustable and synced with the seat memory sucks.
The ride is not very pleasant without the air suspension, would absolutely recommend going for that option. Not sure if audi's have the convenience entry/exit like RR's where it auto lowers the car to get in/out, that was such a nice touch.
Minor one but the luggage compartment cover is flimsy, just feels a bit cheap.
I dropped the brightness of the HUD to minimum, could go lower to be honest, I found it very bright and overly distracting at the default setting.

I reset my MMI but I would probably advise you book in at an Audi Workshop. They can reset the MMI it is literally holding down a button for 10 seconds (The on/off volume button), log any issues and it will also give some peace of mind.

Did you get a black Audi Connect card with the Vin and Connect code? Keep that safe and maybe take a photo of them for safe keeping.

The dealerships have not had enough time with the car and so the handovers to customers are poor or non- existent.
