Took delivery of my Q6 Etron S Line Quattro about 3 weeks ago and it is a massive disappointment on many fronts -
- Profile Settings - doesn’t save my preferences so have to reset on every journey - what is the point of the profile login?
- Randomly changes things - so far have lost HUD, lost connection to MyAudi as went into Private Mode
- Random faults - main beam assist, traffic sign and other driver assist functions just stop working.
- Rear emergency stop is a nightmare - has made me jump out of skin more than once
- Inside is cheap, tacky plastic and generally nasty
- Noise - some sort of howling, reverb noise on certain (most) road surfaces
- Charging - can’t get it to charge at more than 2.3Kw on a standard home or Pod Point 10Kw charger - is there a setting somewhere
- Range - very disappointing and actually no greater than my previous BMW iX3
- Software update - received a notification to book into dealer to update it which is very inconvenient, iX3 was done from in vehicle
- Add ons - insulting to be asked to pay for sound upgrade on the B&O sound system
I have nothing positive to add, this is my first ever Audi and will be my last, hopefully will be able to get a refund and will swap for an iX.

Hello Mark, I am not sure if you have had any help from the dealership..
Profile Settings - Have you checked that you are logged in as a key user? Normally this happens when you are logged in as a guest or local user? or the process of setting you up as a key user hasn't worked fully. (On the MMI - User Management)
Private mode, tend to be because the car has not allowed the App to have full access to the MMI. On the MMI in the privacy settings check that you have allowed remote access this should allow you to stay connected to the car, however unless you are set as the key user functions will be limited.
Random Faults, most of what you have mentioned should be addressed in the software update which has been released. If you haven't made an appointment with your dealership try booking it in.
Range, is something that is getting mixed results. I have a SQ6 which should be technically have lower range but have been getting anything from 2.5-3.1 which for the weight of the car is what I would expect. What we don't know yet is how much the software has impacted the efficiency or if the impending update to some of the control units will help.
Software updates to the MMI are done OTA, but as this is a new platform for Audi and due to issues that some customers have had they want to do the first few system update in the workshop before activating OTA.
Charging is something you may need to look at, I am not sure why you are only getting that speed on a home charger and the load bearing on your charger. Speed of charing is something that nobody has really had an issue with, other than issues with Ohme charger and the API. I would also disable the Battery care mode to see if this helps.
It's a great car, I would say however IX isn't without its software issues which are well documented online. Polestar and Volvo also have issues, I think most people on here would agree that the experience hasn't been great. Not because things have gone wrong but the fact that they haven't communicated enough to explain what's been done to resolve the issues.
As for it being tacky inside, well thats personal taste. I personally find the crystal style jog dial in the BMW something that looks like it belongs in a Claires accessories but others like it.
Unfortunately no car is perfect on performance or style and the high end EV range tends to lack a solid build and performance or resembles a traditional car. Not everyone wants recycled plastics or fake leather. I personally dislike the glossy black in the Q6 but I can forgive that for all the other things I do like.
The software update that is currently being rolled out is said to address:
The new software version contains a series of measures intended to improve quality, as well as several functional enhancements. The software update improves several functions and reduces the occurrence of unjustified warning messages. For example, the vehicle’s charging functions and their availability have been optimised. This applies to features such as the use of speech recognition via the Audi assistant, the navigation system and for mobile phone connections. Occupant detection, sound output and the content displayed on the screens have also been optimised
Updates for Traffic Sign Recognition, Driver Assist Issues, and suspension issue are also said to have been addressed. Along with the activation of digital key.
I would definitely and check if you are set as a key user, this would resolve some of your issues.
