As things go, they have updated to SW 03.01 and problems with the drive system fault remain
Now they are waiting for Audi Germany to give them advise....
Just Useless
If there's an issue with a control unit, then the software update may not resolve all the issue. From my understanding Audi are preparing a extensive update for a range of control units by the end of the year, its unclear if they were added to this update.

I suspect issue with a range of control units are the reason not all cars have the same issue

Thanks @Hppy29. I only wish that Audi service people knew as much about the Q6 as you do.
I can't see myself waiting until the end of the year. A week since I got it and only managed to drive once!

I totally get it is frustrating, and it will be as equally frustrating for Audi aftersales team and workshops as they have to deal with the service campaigns. Just like anything we buy, unless they make all their own components there is always a risk of a quality issue. I don't think until the car went to the mass population that they realised what all the issues were.

As frustrating as it is, at least they are trying to deal with it. I would not pay too much attention to what has or hasn't worked until you get the car back. You may end up with almost all the issues resolved whilst someone may end up with no issues or more.

This sort of software issue isn't unique to Audi, check out Polestar and Volvo..whilst Audi have made cars for years the change to the PPE platform seems to be a culture shock for them, give them chance to resolve it would be my advice because the car is great, the experience less so. But they need to understand goodwill has a lifespan!

As for knowledge, the forum as a collective has had more experience with the car so we have learnt work arounds. With the dealerships what they know and what they can say is controlled by Audi UK and Audi AG.

I have a Q6 edition 1 Quattro. Small quirks but love car. 2 small issues if anyone can assist
1- Apple CarPlay Navigation- I am the key user- Apple CarPlay navigation works for me. My wife is the second key holder/user- everything works well except CarPlay Navigation. She enters address and screen shows multiple routes to choose from, which is correct, but she cannot choose any. The options of select and go are not shown on screen, where they are for me they are. Thoughts?
2- Boot opening - cannot get the boot to open by using foot although have key with me. Thoughts?
Best

Glad you are enjoying the car!

To enable the foot gesture move, you need to turn on convenience key on the MMI

In regards to CarPlay, the car just mirrors the phone. I would suggest checking that the iPhone is up to date, I have read of a few issues with CarPlay not showing up but not allowing touch control.

You can always soft reboot the iPhone and then reboot MMI, by pressing down for 10 seconds the On/Off- volume button. You should see it restart on the right handsome of the cockpit screen.

Let us know how you get on..

Morning. Car booked in for 10thDec update fingers crossed.

I have an additional issue. When using the key to open the boot, the opening stops after about 30cm and beeps like there is an obstruction. With a gentle lift with the hand it will resume to the top and closes ok, does anyone get this?

if it’s not something the software will fix I will get them to look at that too.

thanks

are you double pressing the boot button on the key ? Sometimes there’s a beep if the key is not close enough or in the car.

if you check the owners manual you will see you can also set the hight the boot opens. You may need to check and reset it.

FYI - The navigation database had an update 12/11/24 0015_Eur

After a 110 miles trip , my traffic sign recognition issues has vanished (for now). For the first time I was able to use cruise control. No issues with the speed in MPH / Km.

In fact no issues have come up at all! Efficiency was 2.8 considering the wind and rain, I didn't think that was bad.

Thanks. Would never have found that!

My one small gripe on the dashboard layout is the font size of the battery level. One of the most important displays and I have to get my reading glasses out to see what it says! It only needs to be a size or two bigger. I do not believe it can be adjusted. Just hope that Audi gets feedback and makes a small alteration!

I would always try using Hey Audi, and the e-tron navigation system. And if you have Heads Up display you can see some data there too

Hello, hope everyone doing well. I noticed today that the speed limit gone wrong and the reason I noticed is because it keeps making alerts sound because it think I have reach the speed limit whereas it should be showing mp/h speed limit and not km/h. My units setting was set to MPH and Mi. But in the speed limit showing km?/ph. Any idea what went wrong? View attachment 14417
@LIM are you still having traffic sign issues as of today mine has stopped.

Now that we have started to see delivery of the Q6 & SQ6, I thought it would be a good idea to have a place to share issues, fixes and known issues.
Took delivery of my Q6 Etron S Line Quattro about 3 weeks ago and it is a massive disappointment on many fronts -
  1. Profile Settings - doesn’t save my preferences so have to reset on every journey - what is the point of the profile login?
  2. Randomly changes things - so far have lost HUD, lost connection to MyAudi as went into Private Mode
  3. Random faults - main beam assist, traffic sign and other driver assist functions just stop working.
  4. Rear emergency stop is a nightmare - has made me jump out of skin more than once
  5. Inside is cheap, tacky plastic and generally nasty
  6. Noise - some sort of howling, reverb noise on certain (most) road surfaces
  7. Charging - can’t get it to charge at more than 2.3Kw on a standard home or Pod Point 10Kw charger - is there a setting somewhere
  8. Range - very disappointing and actually no greater than my previous BMW iX3
  9. Software update - received a notification to book into dealer to update it which is very inconvenient, iX3 was done from in vehicle
  10. Add ons - insulting to be asked to pay for sound upgrade on the B&O sound system

I have nothing positive to add, this is my first ever Audi and will be my last, hopefully will be able to get a refund and will swap for an iX.

Hi Hppy, yes the traffic issue still exist today when I drove this morning.

i wonder did Rudy send his car off for software update and how he get on. I have scheduled it on the 23rd Dec.
I would try and get the update earlier if I was you, just in the event something goes wrong and not having a car for the holidays.

As for Rudy, I won't tell his story for him but unfortunately they didn't do his update fingers crossed tomorrow.

Hope the wind didn't spoil the golf today.

Hello Mark, I am not sure if you have had any help from the dealership..

Profile Settings - Have you checked that you are logged in as a key user? Normally this happens when you are logged in as a guest or local user? or the process of setting you up as a key user hasn't worked fully. (On the MMI - User Management)

Private mode, tend to be because the car has not allowed the App to have full access to the MMI. On the MMI in the privacy settings check that you have allowed remote access this should allow you to stay connected to the car, however unless you are set as the key user functions will be limited.

Random Faults, most of what you have mentioned should be addressed in the software update which has been released. If you haven't made an appointment with your dealership try booking it in.

Range, is something that is getting mixed results. I have a SQ6 which should be technically have lower range but have been getting anything from 2.5-3.1 which for the weight of the car is what I would expect. What we don't know yet is how much the software has impacted the efficiency or if the impending update to some of the control units will help.

Software updates to the MMI are done OTA, but as this is a new platform for Audi and due to issues that some customers have had they want to do the first few system update in the workshop before activating OTA.

Charging is something you may need to look at, I am not sure why you are only getting that speed on a home charger and the load bearing on your charger. Speed of charing is something that nobody has really had an issue with, other than issues with Ohme charger and the API. I would also disable the Battery care mode to see if this helps.

It's a great car, I would say however IX isn't without its software issues which are well documented online. Polestar and Volvo also have issues, I think most people on here would agree that the experience hasn't been great. Not because things have gone wrong but the fact that they haven't communicated enough to explain what's been done to resolve the issues.

As for it being tacky inside, well thats personal taste. I personally find the crystal style jog dial in the BMW something that looks like it belongs in a Claires accessories but others like it.

Unfortunately no car is perfect on performance or style and the high end EV range tends to lack a solid build and performance or resembles a traditional car. Not everyone wants recycled plastics or fake leather. I personally dislike the glossy black in the Q6 but I can forgive that for all the other things I do like.

The software update that is currently being rolled out is said to address:

The new software version contains a series of measures intended to improve quality, as well as several functional enhancements. The software update improves several functions and reduces the occurrence of unjustified warning messages. For example, the vehicle’s charging functions and their availability have been optimised. This applies to features such as the use of speech recognition via the Audi assistant, the navigation system and for mobile phone connections. Occupant detection, sound output and the content displayed on the screens have also been optimised

Updates for Traffic Sign Recognition, Driver Assist Issues, and suspension issue are also said to have been addressed. Along with the activation of digital key.

I would definitely and check if you are set as a key user, this would resolve some of your issues.

Thanks,

I am the key user, it was a tedious process but it does show me as key user. I assume it is meant to store settings under the profile?

In theory yes!

In the app, under the service tab do you have an Audi partner set?

I would also suggest you try rebooting the MMI if you haven't already. To do this try holding down the On-Off/ Volume dial for 10 seconds. You should notice on the right hand side of the cockpit that the MMI is rebooting.

There's a few options you can try, one is calling your workshop and asking them to try getting them to work some magic

Or you can try adding the car again via the MyAudi App, this has worked for a few people but the result will depend on what's causing the issue. To do this you need the black Audi connect card. If you want to try this I can tell you how.

But I would suggest calling your dealership booking the car in for its software update and asking them to check you are the key user on the system.

Hi Hppy, I have reconsider doing it earlier now or doing it after new year. Have you done yours yet? Sorry, I was so busy due to year end and didn't have time to follow the forum. I guess I missing a lot.

Golf course closed due to strong wind.

I did drive to the dealership last week. I'm 100% sure that they do really have lack of information about the new Q6 issue and what need to be done. Can't blame them but mainly down new product and Christmas coming.

Thanks
LIM
