Q8 etron Acoustic Side Window Glazing

Hi everyone. Would appreciate some advice please.
I am trying to spec up a Q8 etron Sportback (in the UK).
There is an option for £550 - acoustic side window glazing

Unfortunately there are no further details on the website about this and the dealers are unable to answer any queries as they themselves don't have any cars with this option.

Any idea if the acoustic glass makes the Q8 etron significantly quieter? Or am I wasting my money?

Thanks

Double pane glazing is always quieter. It helps reduce noise from other vehicles in traffic, but won't really matter when you're driving down an empty road. Also slightly more efficient in terms of heat transfer. In the US its just part of a 55 trim package and we don't really have an option of choosing it or not. In fact its not even mentioned. I have it on my Prestige and really appreciate it in traffic.

And the acoustic windows are very difficult to break into if that's an issue. They don't shatter like normal single pane windows.
My E-tron is single-glazed. The loan E-tron I had while may car was being serviced had double glazing.

Personally, I couldn't tell the difference. If that helps?

If you have upgraded audio system it should be part of the package.
Hi there.

I think the options list in the UK is different.
On the Vorsprung line, almost everything is included as standard (including the upgraded sound system)

However, the acoustic glazing still comes up as an optional extra

I have a 2019 e-tron with acoustic glass. Extremely quiet.
