It looks like the E-Tron is going to be providing less range that what was first outlined. The original concept prototype which debuted at the Geneva Motor show, was projected to make 311 miles. It now looks like that figure is going to be closer to 248. This puts it in line with what the Bolt delivers, which isn't good considering its rumored entry price.

Audi has also confirmed that the E-Tron will be making use of DC fast chargers, that are said to be more powerful than what's offered by Tesla. These new 150kWh stations will be able to charge a battery to 80% capacity in just 30 minutes.

That's not a good sign that the range figures are already lower than projected, considering we haven't even had any real word testing yet. They are going to have to make adjustments to the base price if they cant match what's being offered from rivals. We also don't know what impact these fast chargers will have on battery life.

On European cycles, the e-tron battery is rated at 248.5 miles of range. Maybe the EPA range ratings are a bit better when Audi gets around to releasing them? I was hoping for around 300 miles per charge, but what we're given is still sufficient and if it's anything like the other EVs out there, you can make that stretch with hypermilling.

Most people do on average 30 miles a day so when that's the case along with the fact we almost always travel the same routes, it will be easy to manage that much range. Also factor in the growing amount of charging stations showing up and all the options you can plan into your day to keep topped up.

So the battery is said to be air cooled, keeping the battery pack between 77 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit and there's a thiller installed behind the left side of the front bumper if needed. Assuming that's the optimal temperature to keep a pack to limit battery degeneration, the Audi E-tron should keep most of its charge for years to come.
