Have June '19 build etron; Several times have seen the Yellow Bulb Failure Icon at bottom of dash, overlays the SOS ICON. This also triggers the Central Indicator Light ICON [yellow triangle top of dash]. When this happens there is a message popup on the left side of the dash [ETRON Mode] indicates a tail light problem.
Turning the car off and back on clears the alerts. Anyone seen this?

I have taken my Etron 3 times to get this particular error message looked at and corrected. The latest fix requires the tail light assembly part to be replaced. The part won’t arrive till 3/28!!! They released car back to me but not sure I should be driving given half my tail light isn’t functioning properly. Not happy. Dealer has had my car 4 times now for a number of issues and each time they have to keep my car 4-9 days.

Next time it happens will have to look to see if all the segments are lighting up. If turning off the car and back on the error disappears so may be a problem showing to dealer. Not sure if the car journals error messages. If so the dealer should have seen it on my last visit to investigate the tailgate closing and popping open unsolicited.
Thanks for the insight into your experiences.

For what it is worth, that is on our list of things to get looked at on our unit. I have checked and never seen any actual lights failing even when I check immediately...I think in some cases the controller is getting some bad info (maybe a f/w thing). Anyway, there is a service bulletin to upgrade the eTron firmware and they apparently upgrade the charger (as I have to bring that too). In addition to "mechanical updates" so I'll see what that means come the 19th. You can see if you are due for the service on my audi by running you VIN in the recall tool.

Yes, I have had that error, but it goes away. It happened twice and the passenger side tail light bar was out. But it cleared up after a restart. It happened about a month ago after going through a car wash.

Yes, I am in the midst of this issue right now. Had a few cases of the "license plate light" error, on and off. Then over the weekend, I got a "partial tail light failure". The light strip acoss the rear was doing odd things--when locking/unlocking, the drivers segment stayed dark; when running, the drivers segment would flicker. Then that stopped. I have also had (I think much more serious) problem with the video feeds failing to display on the screen. I turn on the car and set Reverse, and I see nothing but the schematic of the car on a dark screen. The motion sensors work, but no image. The Dealer Service seems to think this is all connected.

I'm also having problems with the "automatic parking assist" going bonkers, but that is another story. Prior to this I had to have the whole "Steering Module" replaced....all the driving assist feature failed at one. Replacing the module seems to have fixed that.

Right now, Audi is going to replace the whole taillight assembly...has to be shipped from Germany.

When purchasing my e-tron, I was looking for the model in black. They let me know they had a new one in black but it was in the back for service for the license plate light and ensured to me that it was a simple fix and had been taken care of.

We decided to purchase this vehicle anyway with 40 some miles on it. The very next day I received an error on my screen about the license plate light and thought, "hmm that's weird" and told myself I would have to address it with the dealership. On day 2 of driving my vehicle the AC then went out and I had to take the vehicle in to be serviced.

I just received my vehicle back from the dealership after 26 days and now my back-up camera has gone out and the ignition does not consistently engage on the first try. I began scouring the internet and found this thread and it now reminds me about the initial license plate light issues.... I'm wondering if all of these malfunctions are interconnected??? Concerned that I may have purchased a lemon :(

Leasing the car in early December 2019, after replacing the Steering Module and the Taillight Assembly and having a big software upgrade, my etron has been a pleasure to drive--knock on wood. Of course, the COVID-19 shutdown has made really getting it out a lot more difficult. In my setup, the only change I have made as been to turn off the Automatic Parking Assist. On neighborhood streets way too often it gets the idea that I want to park!

I have a one edition and the light error started to appear intermittent last week, car has 6300 miles. Took to Audi this morning and confirmed this is known issue. However the rear light assembly is on back-order and no inventory, so they gave me the car back and now I need to wait for a call and they are not sure when the parts will come in. It also seems odd in way, that I have a car with a known faulty light issue. Would this not be deemed a safety issue and I guess we are running the risk of being stopped by police...

I am getting the same intermittent error at a similar milage. But it only seems to affect the right half of the trunk lid light and the right lamp for the license plate. The right brake light, turn signal, flasher and back up light all seem fine. Don't think the police would pull you over for the half of a light strip not functioning.

My car was in the workshop for latest service recall yesterday and it developed the flashing rear red LED strip failure on one side only whilst there. I reported it, they saw it (along with the license plate lamp warning) and it was replaced next day with new part. I have no idea how they got the part so quickly but I’m happy!

Same issue here. 19 ETron purchase 2 months ago. 1700 miles and received the license plate light malfunction and now my entire right side is flashy and driver side is completely off. Sigh, yet another issue with this car. Great to drive but **** for an 80k car, they shouldn’t have this many issues. Bringing it in tomorrow to have it replaced.

Update to my post, took it to dealer, my guy texted me 7-10 days for delivery of light. They are also changing my brakes because they are squealing.
