Thanks for the insight Pete! So this pricing is nearly identical to that of the I-Pace, though the First Edition exceeds €100,000. Don't know how many people will opt for those virtual side mirrors, as there are probably really expensive to repair/replace.

Oh trust me, once people get into the $75,000 USD range or even past the 50-60k range it becomes easier to upsell.

A lot of people have fear of missing out and to a good sales person its a matter of persuasion regardless if the person needs it or not.

I preordered my e-tron with the Prestige package. Order was locked as of 12/31. Waiting on a schedule date. I test drove the Tesla X as a benchmark, but the brand continues to have quality issues. I heard a few demo vehicles should be available in coming months.

I read that even since delivery day Model X owners have been experiencing issues which makes me wonder what's motivating people to still buy.

Apple like fanboyism is what I believe it comes down to.

Got a build week of week 9 (w/c 25/2) for mine. Should have the Car late March/Early April
That's interesting - my order'll be going in later this week hopefully as I returned the forms to the lease company today. I was originally looking to swap in September as that's when my current lease ends, but the dealer's quoted a possible June delivery, so may pay a few quid and swap early as the running costs will be way lower.

It's interesting that you've just ordered and they'll have a car for you in a couple of months - I had assumed as a new model the lead time would be greater than that.

What model/colour have you gone for? I've ordered a galaxy blue launch edition and have decided to add the sound and light pack.

Hi @AndyfromEmbsay - you're here too! - slightly off-topic but what made you go for the e-tron over the iPace? I'm about to have an extended test in the iPace, I'd love to be able to try the e-tron too but apparently the soonest there'll be one in the U.K. is end of February...and that's a static LHD demonstrator from Germany. Also would really like to see an EPA range number before I sign up, I know these things are hugely variable but would give a bit more confidence of whether my regular 200 mile journey is achievable - I'll know next weekend for the iPace...

Be really interested to hear your delivery date, suspect that the lead-time will increase rapidly now that orders have been released.

Couple of reasons - mainly the size. Have had a sit in an I-pace and was surprised how compact it is - coming from an XC90 so used to something I can just chuck stuff in the back of. Also on our work scheme the etron Launch Edition is about £100 a month less than the £10k cheaper I-pace, and I just really like the way Audis are screwed together.

I only lease over a couple of years so if it's a duff decision then I'll swap again! I have an I-pace for the weekend over 8-11 March and will be driving it up to Yorkshire and back to check the practicalities of my weekly commute!

They're talking June for the etron btw - which suits me timing-wise.

I went for the base model with some extras in Galaxy Blue (Virtual Mirrors, Matrix LED lights, 360 camera, towbar, front and rear seat heating, heated steering wheel). When I looked in detail at the Launch Edition, it had a load of stuff I wouldn't use (and I couldn't have the heated steering wheel), so for me it wasn't worth the extra money.
