Hi all,

Stumbled across this forum just now and looked interesting. I'm based in the UK and have taken the plunge to go from my RS4 to RS E-Tron GT. The dealer has advised it could be a Nov build so Dec delivery...

Wondered if anyone else had dates/lead times as this seems ages 😬

Also - I thought Audi had an on-line order tracking system but can't find it anymore.

Welcome to the forum @Heli Steve! Congrats on going with the RS e-tron GT! What convinced you to switch from your RS4? From my understanding from some threads there's an Audi UK app that should work to track your order. I'm not in the UK so hopefully someone else can confirm this.

Combination of things. Feel good factor of being environmentally friendlier (3 kids are very happy), massive saving on fuel & tax (UK), how it looks, awesome reviews and mind blowing acceleration. However, the biggest driver is doing something for the environment and helping build the momentum to encourage others to do their bit too.

I put in a deposit for GT Prestige, but US has not allocated build slots yet. It was supposed to be “next Monday” for the last 3 weeks.

Same here. Not quite sure what to make of that. Greater than expected demand? I've read that somewhere. Chip shortage pressures? My dealer doesn't seem to have any concrete explanations, other than "Audi."

I put a deposit down on an RS GT back in January. My dealer has told me that the RS models start production in June, mine is in the first batch, and I should expect delivery sometime end June.
Back in March he told me that non-preorders were due for delivery sometime in October. I am guessing the semi-conductor shortage and other supply chain constraints are having a larger impact. High demand too possibly but Audi are yet to release any numbers.

Production and delivery in the same month? That sounds extremely optimistic. As to the dealer allocations (“non-pre-orders”), perhaps it works differently over there, but my dealer has told me that dealers are getting their launch vehicles first in June/July with preorders coming at end of summer with RS/Prestige/Performance getting priority over the base model.

You're definitely going to get a lot of questions about your car. I got that when I first got my e-tron. It's a cool feeling showing people that EVs are more than just economy cars. Especially with the performance the RS e-tron GT can deliver.

Ordered a GT Vorsprung in early April for early June build slot here in the UK with end of June delivery estimate so I imagine ours will be in the same batch Horus! Audi did have a build tracker but it seems to have been removed from the UK website (still on the Irish site though) for some reason.

Think it was the only slot with delivery anytime before Autumn that they had available so I guess the popularity is a good sign!

The dealer said they should get their demo cars later this month so looking forward to seeing one in reality as I think I've been spending too much time on Youtube!

7 months doesn't actually seem to bad. I ordered my etron August 31st 2020 with an initial delivery timescale of 18 weeks (eg Jan 2021). The latest update is July 2021 - in other words 11 months from order to delivery!

It seems that Audi were impacted by various pandemic shutdowns, with the global chip shortage also having an impact. Being cynical, I wouldn't be surprised if I am down the queue as I ordered as through the company scheme and so Audi may be prioritising direct owners from their dealerships?

Thanks for the welcome. I decided to go away from a petrol vehicle as it can be funded through my company and ultimately saved the business money as I can reduce my wages to have a nice vehicle. As with many companies, last year was a tough year and reducing costs will help recovery. The only other real contender was the Porsche but with an estimated delivery time of the end of the year which may drop into early next year, I went for the Audi.

In the last 22 years i think 15 years of which I have had an RS Audi so made sense to stick with a brand I am happy with. It appears better value than the Porsche due to the equipment levels, although allegedly it may have a different drive I probably won't notice this as yet to own a Porsche (still on my wish list).. Driving a heavy RS Quattro vehicle cant be too hard to live with after having had an RS6 V10

Good to hear delivery times are now speeding up - hopefully mine comes quicker than the expected delivery date.

Frustratingly I seem to have no oversight of my build week due to the lease company being less than transparent!

I believe the originally expected dates have slipped due to supply chain issues/covid etc. I was originally told 12 weeks lead time from my March date which would have been 1st week of June, I am hoping last week of July but delays are always inevitable shipping from Germany especially with customs now being an added issue

Yeah, having already had a 6 month delay I'm well aware of the wider issues affecting both the entire industry and the specific Audi eTron plant (which I understand is in Brussels, Belgium).

Daytona grey, not sure on some of the other colours and thought if I went for a special it would only delay delivery

I've gone Kemora Grey with the matching colour grille. Personally felt the all black front was a little monotone with this colour. Think it looks better with Daytona grey.

Also, dealer called this afternoon saying estimated Nov build date now been brought forward to July Very happy call to get!
