What?! You cant just plug the mobile charger in to the charging port to start charging. You HAVE to set a Timer?!?!

Hi All,

I bought a 2019 e-tron 3 days ago. Today i tried to charge for the first time. I have owned EVs from four other companies and every one of them starts charging as soon as you plug it in , by default. I am currently using Level 1 charging at this rental house and it works great with my BMW i4. But when i plug the Audi in, it says waiting for Timer. And i did then find the Timer stuff and see you can only set DEPARTURE time. You have to guess how long the charging will take and plug in accordingly. Also, i tried pulling the connector out, but it is locked in!!
1. Is there a way to tell the car to NOT use any Timer and simply start when you plug it in?
2. How can i unlock the charge port and remove the connector.

I looked in the owners manual and it was no help. The Audi app was no help either.

For "2", make sure the car doors are unlocked, then press the black button by the charging port door.

When using level 1 charging, make sure to set the EVSE to 100% if you use the Audi one. Otherwise, the amperage will be too low for the car to recognize it.
It's for your protection. This way, if by any chance you forgot, it won't overcharge the battery. If it does, you know what's going to happen.....right.
