A6 Etron Ambient lights off on top of the heads up display

Hi,
I just took delivery of an A6-Etron in the US and I noticed that the ambient lights are off just on top of the heads up display, they are on to the left and right of it along the dashboard.
Is this normal?
On my 3 months old Q6 E-tron the ambient lights are on for the full dashboard, just wondering.

Just picked up an A6 e-tron yesterday and noticed the same thing driving home right now... Im guessing this is normal but I just dont understand why Audi would do this.

And yes I drove a few Q6 loaners the last few months and the interaction light bar definitely goes all the way around even while driving.

AFAIK, that's done in order to stop reflecting the light bar on your windshield in front of the driver while driving.

makes sense, just looks odd how it cuts off. and its annoying knowing the light bar goes all the way across on the Q6 but not the A6. oh well, it is what it is. 😑
