My other car pre-heats/cools using an App.

Try as I might I can't find anything like that on this car, the myAudi app seems to be very basic at the moment. There is also an Audi connect app (not sure how this would apply/talk to the Q4).

Finally, the Owners Handbook leads you to Auxiliary Air Conditioner, which is tucked away in the menus, However, compared to the app for my other car, the q4 programming is only a week at a time.

Anyone, found a better way to do this. Pre-heat/Cool?

I set ours by the MyAudi app

All be it at most 2 dates at a time.

And the vast majority of the time the timer setting function will fail to send to the vehicle.

Updating the settings for the climate however work everytime without fail.

I've set the 5 mins of heating on unlock and just live with that.

Also somewhat annoying, if the heaters have been set to "off" then irrespective to settings or timers, it wont come back on until I'm next in the car and physically press the off button again.

We got the run around when taking first delivery with that also. Lots of documentation suggested we need a 10 digit code with the key, however it only became apparent when speaking to Audi UK that the Q4 doesnt come with one. Instead it was a few emails with our local dealer & she set it all up remotely as a key user.

Still somewhat annoying that you cannot log into the vehicle though. 90% of the reason for me wanting to be a key user was to stop that god awful pop up everytime I start the car

I’m with you on that. I’ve got a date at the dealer in two days to get winter boots on my GT, and they need figure out how to enable my login to the car then too (finally got the app working fully when they verified my account this morning, but the car throws an error when I try to use the account to log in).

Well one very long conversation with Audi and we're no further forward.

As the car was pre registered with our purchasing dealer, they still show up as the key user, so until they delete their registration, we can't get set up.

Hopefully, this can be done by Friday.

Then we might just be able to see much more functionality.

all of this key user stuff sounds like a right pain in the ***. Once again Audi proving they are a legacy car company when it comes to technology. Surely it would be much easier /user friendly to be able to pair the phone app with the car using an inital code/blue tooth pairing, like you do with your phone/tv and iplayer?

My son has just got a Tesla Model 3, he laughing, his car has go every conceivable option, kit that doesn't exist in the Audi parts bin, but everything is set up and working from the moment he left the showroom.

I wouldn't have a Model 3 myself, but Tesla have got the Tech completely sorted for the owner from Day 1.

Yeah few mates have model X and S, same the same but they all share the same feedback, technically great but that’s where it ends with Tesla, feel like they are put together by a child and the tech support is something to be desired, did manage to test drive a model y and Jesus it was a harsh ride and felt very cheap, I pointed a few issues out to the dealer one of them being the panels not lining up and the trunk jarring as it opens

My brother has a model 3. Uncle has both an S and X. it’s just not comparable to the build quality of the GT (or audi in general). Misaligned panels, misaligned frunk, creaky as ****. But yeah, they absolutely have figured out the tech side of things for sure. people who like teslas are looking more for a tech gadget on wheels than a driving machine IMO. it’s not bad, just different strokes for different folks.

Yesterday, I scheduled pre-heating for when I came out of work. Success, car was lovely and toasty, no cold leather seats to sit on. (y)

Later into my journey, I noticed the battery level was at 39%, then the penny dropped, my other car doesn't pre-condition if the state of charge is below 50%.

Result, nice one Audi, will have to see how low the SOC is before this function doesn't work.

The manual, just states the HV battery should have a sufficient level of charge.

If you set a departure time, it will pre condition in readiness for departure time and will continue for a further 15 minutes after set time. I suppose to accommodate the fact you might not return to the car at the desired time. Also very clever.
