I've just been trying to iron some of the bugs and noticed that the digital key function is now available.
You need to unlock your car with the phone and then run through the setup in the settings > digital key menu.
Then place your phone in the phone basket to start the car.

You can try deleting Digital Key, but you will not be able to reconfigure it. Users who added it to a single device and single user profile have noticed less issues compared to those who had multiple profiles, however as soon as you delete it, try moving it to another device the authentication process causes issues. This has resulted in Audi preventing the device being shared, or allowing any modification to the account. By this I mean they have removed the function, with no work around until they update the software.

From the forum posts and reddits it looks like if you’re on a Samsung you have to store the digital key in Samsung Wallet. Even tried getting task killer to stop the app and service but it kept reverting to Samsung Wallet. I’ll stick with using my iPhone. Works flawlessly.

The pin is probably built into the link.

In my case the car
Reboot my phone
Click on Add to Wallet in the email
The phone shows a screen with a continue link
The car will then issue a fail saying it is not connected to the internet

I suppose I need to ask the dealer but they are pretty new at this stuff. Hoping to find some more experienced people here unless somebody can suggest a better place to ask.

I clicked on "Add to Apple Wallet" in the email generated and the phone spins connecting like its trying to add it to the Apple Wallet. The car times out it saying the vehicle is not connected to the internet. I tried it with both Wifi enabled and connected to my local network as well as wifi disabled on the car and the phone just in case that might have an effect.

Thoughts?

My car was upgraded to 3.01c yesterday. I'm going to try and activate my digital key today, so I'll report back.
Here in the UK, the 1st step is to ensure that you have the supplying dealer set in the myAudi App, in the Audi Partner section. You should be able to search on name or zip. Once you've done this, contact your dealer to let them know that you're trying to configure your digital key. You should then receive an email titled "myAudi - setup password for the digital key". The email has a link to both the Apple and Android digital keys.
You need to be sat in your vehicle with the phone connected to Bluetooth in order to link the digital key to the car. You just follow the prompts on your phone after clicking on one of the links mentioned previously.
I hope this helps.

in all functions section of the my Audi app, you should see digital key. When selecting it maybe be greyed out. Tapping should prompt an activation code email if you didn’t receive one already( this is how it worked in the uk). You’ll need this code to start the activation process.

Did you get the software version from the car, not the app??

I queried it earlier, as the online manual advised that I'd need authorisation from my dealer to use the feature.
I've just seen this reply in my email:
"Audi UK have advised the UK specification vehicles do not have the software to support this function, the software is planned to be updated after the end of November so you will not be able to use this function until then."
So week 48 it is then! Maybe!

I think i was getting a bit ahead of myself!
Yesterday, when I clicked on the digital key, I could a message that this option is unavailable. Today, I could go in and it was asking me to unlock the car with my phone. I'd put the key in the house, but still had the keycard in my pocket, which was allowing me to unlock the car.
I'm on Android, and I suspect the solution will be slightly different to you iPhone users that are waiting for the option to be added to the Apple Wallet.
Out of interest, what do you see when you click on the digital key from the main menu?

PS I see that there's some talk on the german forum around whether Android will be supported, but when I click on the Audi Connect Key in the myAudi App and run a compatibility check, it tells me that my device (Samsung S24 Ultra) is supported.

Android or Apple they both use CCC Digital Key standard, and I am sure it will come to both. The Apple integration they talk about is placing it into apple wallet to make it secure at the moment Apple only supports some BMW and Ford I believe. There was an advert that showed an iPhone with digital key so everyone assumes it's iPhone only but considering that the market is more android based I can't see them restricting it to Apple unless android doesn't meet the CCC standard. I will have a go tomorrow and see what it says...

I understand that an update is due week 48, but speculation is will this be a full software update or a minor over the air as its already baked in the MMI

Have you managed to get a digital key made and in your phone wallet? Audi has said it was due the end of the month to some users, but not how they would deliver the update.

It’s one of the main topics on the German forums as the software is built in the MMI but doesn’t complete the process. Same as Auto Charge.. starts the process but won’t share the certificate with the car and won’t work.
