recently acquired 2025 Q4 e-tron. MyAudi app on iPhone won't show its connected or sync unless I'm standing next to the car. the car is 20 feet away in the garage, it doesn't sync for hours. according to MMI customer service, car uses Verizon, my iPhone is on Verizon, granted I see 1 bar on the dash icon, but my phone gets service, so not sure what the issue is. if it was a mobile "service" issue why would it sync when I'm standing next to it? coming from a VW ID4 the app always remained sync'd.

I think you may be conflating two issues. First, the MyAudi app NEVER connects directly to your car. It doesn't matter what phone Service Provider you are using. Your app uses your phones wifi service or data to connect to your MyAudi account in the Audi Cloud. Your car, completely independent of that, uses its wifi/data capability to also connect to your account in the Audi Cloud. The phone and car then link with each other in your Audi Cloud account. For this it does not matter where you or your car are located. If you open the MyAudi app on your phone and click the little update circle in the upper right, your phone should communicate via the Cloud and the Cloud should send you the data it has gotten from your car via the car's wifi connection. As Chasing Cars notes above, you should be able to do this from the other side of the world, if you have wifi connections for both. If you can never get the MyAudi app to update your info, or for you to execute a command, two possible causes come to mind: 1) your car and phone are not properly sync'd with your Cloud Account; or, 2) when you request an update, the Cloud sends a request to your car to wake it up and send that data--possibly your car is having trouble waking up.

You may be conflating this issue with another--connecting to your car's wifi hotspot. New cars generally come with a free trial of all the Audi Connect subscription features. Among these is giving you access to the Audi Wifi hotspot available from the car. For this you do need to be near the car with the car turned on. Your phone can then connect to the car directly and you can access wireless Carplay, Android Auto, and other features via the MMI.
Thank you, I agree as to how both the auto and the IOS app should be interfacing with the cloud server to update; however, I can't look past the fact that my IOS app (with garage still closed) will update the app when I open ONLY the driver side door, see the dash turn on before I get in, and the update happens. I can replicate the issue if I just leave the auto on the driveway just outside the garage. It appears the car just doesn't "wake up" to connect otherwise.

FROM the AUDI MMI Digital Team... about my 2025 Q4 E Tron 55

"Thank you for your patience as we were working with Tier 2 to resolve your concern. At this time, we have received a response from them with the appropriate steps which will need to be done. At your convenience, please utilize the steps below.
  • Tier 2 emphasized that the myAudi app only updates after there's been a change in Battery or Range levels, which sets it apart from Audi's other e-tron vehicles. When vehicles are parked in a garage it can be harder for the myAudi app to obtain the needed signal to communicate with the backend and we encourage using the myAudi app features or completing any troubleshooting when the vehicle is out in the open."

This is wild, and if anyone is reading this from Audi, they should seriously fix this. I had it tell me my door was open for 24 hours straight, even though it was closed. never had an issue with the VW ID4, it always stayed updated.
