Hi All -
With the September lease deals, I just picked up a 2025 S Etron GT in White with the 21 inch wheels.
Pictures don't do it justice, this is one of the most beautiful cars I've seen in person - and the cabin is just as beautiful.
I'm coming from a 2019 BMW M550i (which I own and we still have). That was the best car I ever owned and bought it on a CPO.
My wife leased an IX, and I was kind of jealous of her car. It was this big SUV, but it hit with this instant torque mine didn't have.
I was looking at this and the Lucid Air Touring. The reason I went with the Audi was that the lease deals were way better for the Audi. I'd end up paying the same on the Lucid in terms of cost of lease and the Audi is 45k more in MSRP. Also, while the Lucid can charge at superchargers, it can only do so at 50kw hour, whereas the Audi can do 150kw. Supercharger access was important and I got the Lextron Plus. I'd like to get the Audi OEM when it comes out, and I won't need this until a road trip in a couple months, but that was important to me. Both cars have some tech issues to work out, but I just felt better going with the Audi and checking back on Lucid in a couple years.
Anyhow, I just had my (literal) first drive. I leased it sight unseen from an out of state Audi dealer - as I went through a broker and this was the best deal I could find.
One thing that threw me a little was the that the throttle has some resistance like an ICE car. In the IX you have to be very careful with the throttle or it will jerk like crazy. When you put some pressure on the throttle with the Etron GT it's nice and smooth, you have to put some pressure on it to get her going, but that's actually probably a good thing. By the time I'm at 30 - 40% she's flying.
Second thing, is the suspension is so good that you don't realize how fast you are going. I merged onto the highway, and I was like, is that really that fast? Then I looked down and I was going 80.
Sure I love the V8 my BMW provides and think I'll keep it for a while, but very excited to get to know this car.
I'm hoping reliability has improved with the '25s and I feel for those who have had issues in the past, that's a PITA and no fun. Excited to connect with other owners and learn any tips / tricks in terms of how to get the most out of this car.
