Hey everyone,

I just purchased a pre-owned Audi Etron sportback and they said they won’t provide me with the level 2 cable on delivery day due to recall. The new replacement they advised me would be available near July.

I honestly don’t know what to do here as I want to charge the vehicle at my home and with my driving and daily commute level 1 charging won’t be feasible. As it is pre owned they aren’t offering any incentive as well.

I wanted ask is there any in-expensive solution so I can charge my car faster other than like going to a charging station or buying an aftermarket charger.

If you want to consider installing an EVSE (which I strongly recommend), there is one YouTuber who reviews them and from my experience is very thorough and objective. He also has lots of related videos on adapters, charging tests, and range tests. Suggest you check out his video channel.

He has a specific playlist for charger reviews....

Here is a very comprehensive introduction to the whole topic of chargers (EVSEs), how much capacity to install, and related questions.
Not sure why it shows as "unavailable." I just watched it....
See the next post.

Buddy, you need to stop consulting with your friend Jack Daniels before you write your post. If you did have all those nickels, you might donate them to Audi so they might get their customers a decent Nickel-cad battery. The way Audi has handled this recall and in fact their Etron roll out, is customer abuse, plain and simple.

You can find EVSE 240V adapters for under $200 on Amazon. Are they any good? No idea!
That being said, if you will stay in your home for a couple of years at least, I recommend a hardwire installation.
It's safer, and more reliable/robust, and you can pull a higher amount of current than possible through plug-ins (assuming your vehicle can do it -- I know the GT can; don't know about the others.)
