Electrical System Malfunction” on our etron Vorsprung.
We have this car now for 6 month and had plenty of error messages.
  • Low tyre pressure warnings but tyres are fine.
  • Electrical warnings including heater and aircon stop working.
  • Entertainment system initialisation never completes which means we sometimes have no radio, navigation etc.
  • Switch users doesn't work meaning we only drive with one user.
Audi told us they are very busy at the moment and can only book us in in a few weeks.
We carried on driving as instructed but now we have a complete electric fallout error.

"Stop the car you can not continue to drive" is not what you want to read on the motorway.

Or how about "steering wheel electric fault, stop the car imminently"

Followed by "brake electric fault stop the car".
The car alarm is going off and plenty more error messages.

We are now waiting for recovery services. Let's hope Audi is not too busy.
Love the look and feel of the car however the software totally sucks.

Does anyone else experience issues like that?

My 4-day-old e-tron flashed the “Electrical system malfunction! Safely stop vehicle”, “Restart not possible” error. Had it trucked to the dealer. After waiting 3 weeks for a part, I picked it up today. Within 3 miles, I got the same error. Has anyone else successfully diagnosed something like this?

Sorry to hear you've got the same problem Cutandrun. Keep us updated on how things are progressing.

Looks like Audi has to do a lot more work on this to sort these faults. It's been 5 days since our etron Vorsprung went back to Audi and we haven't heard anything since. Well actually Audi told us on Monday they will get back to us within 48 hours but they didn't.

If you search on youtube for 'etron problems' you get plenty of videos about this. Here is one of them. We've got all the same error message until it completely stoped driving but ours does not leak.

I got my e-tron back on Friday. They told me new software had been installed. On Friday night I got a “Charging system: malfunction” error and charging stopped 15% short of target. I removed the cord and restarted. It finished without further errors. Today I got another “Electrical system: malfunction” and “Restart not possible”, then it started telling me my key was not detected even though it was in my pocket. It‘s getting worse, not better. The dealer has been doing everything they can, but no one seems to be able to come up with a fix. This is the third time in service in my first month of ownership. It’s been in the shop 24 days, in my garage 6.

Sorry to hear about your problems! Did you try placing the fob in the phone box at the end closest to the dash? That is where the fob sensor is located. Also, if you lock the car with all the windows closed and move the fobs far away, the car will do a full shutdown after sitting for more than an hour. When you start up the car again it will then do a full reboot.

We still have no news from Audi. We are chasing after them but there is very little customer services.
20 days later and apperently they don't know what is wrong with the etron. Maybe the battery, maybe something else.
15th Dec and they are now telling us it probably won't get fixed this year and they don't know how long it will take in the new year to get the etron repaired.
6 month old top of the line 100K etron and nothing but problems so far.
Audi gave us a basic Volvo as a replacement. At least it works.
First world problems I guess.
It's not that the etron is broken, it's the lack of information or Audi's bad customer services that we find upsetting.
Never owned a Tesla but I heard they take care of their customers.
We really want to love this car. Come on Audi you can do better than that.
