I see Preston Audi have the exact car in stock I am waiting for, but want £65k for it, so just the £10k premium !

This is why they want the cancellations !
Yep! That's why I'm taking mine and not trading in my A3. If I decide that the Q4 isn't for me I'll be able to sell it privately and get a good return on my "investment" 😁

Hi All
Newbie here.
I ordered my Q4 (Edition 1 50 Quattro with C&S and Tech pack plus heat pump) at the beginning of last month (Dec 2022) and was told that the lead time was 9-12 months.
Yesterday the dealership emailed me to say that “any orders which currently include a Comfort & Sound Pack can take anywhere between 18-24 months to arrive” and that my car is still at status 0.
Should I be worried?

Hi mate

Well my Edition1 40 with no extras at all has an estimated build of week 39 2023 and I ordered 5/10/21

Unless the supply chain changes dramatically I would expect you will see that car mid 24 at best

Sorry mate to be the bearer of bad news

I'm out - just cancelled my Sep 21 order for an Edition One C+S - dealer was happy to cancel the order and they have refunded my deposit. I have no confidence in the latest delivery date of June 23 and fully expect the date to continue sliding so I've had enough. Good luck to those still waiting for delivery on 2021 orders.

I've been lurking and following along here for a while. I ordered a Q4 Sportback 50 Quattro Edition 1 via Zenith/work scheme in December 2021 with an original expected delivery date of October 2022. That slipped to January 2023 and today has slipped to April 2023. I have zero confidence in that date though and want to cancel the order - we have a child on the way and need a bigger vehicle asap! The problem is we had a pod point fit at our previous address (yes the car has taken so long we have moved house since it was fit!) and I'm being told I will have to pay £949 to cover that.

Has anyone managed to cancel an order due to the delays and have Audi cover the pod point install cost? I am just trying to work out if there is any precedent set for it.

Thanks in advance,
Luke
No one seems to have gone through this (or no one has replied to say they have!) but I've just had notification that ours has been delayed again until July. I've now raised a complaint and basically said, deliver the car or cover the costs of the pod point and cancel it. I've asked them to tell me how long I am beholden to paying for the pod point for if they keep missing their estimates. I surely can't be held to paying it indefinitely because they can't deliver!

Anyway, given the massive jump in the cost of the car I suspect they will be more than happy to cover the pod point costs! I will report back any progress.

I've heard about the pod point issue before, as in Audi telling customers they need to pay for it, but I've never heard of a solution to this so let us know how it goes. All things considered the fact that it's taking them so long to build your car, and are prioritising other cars to sell for more money, should mean they should just pay for the installation. I would 100% not pay. If dealers have Q4's in their forecourts then they should offer you one of them.

Thought I would share my experience. I ordered through Lex Autolease (company car) end of Jan 22 ( Q4 40 S Line C+S Met paint, plus extras such as Matrix LED, Amb Light Plus etc.). At point of order was given a proposed stock date of 30th Nov 22. Then at beginning of Nov 22 was given confirmed build date of w/c 21st Nov. They confirmed on 29th Nov that the car was built and in shipment status, I was told 5-6 weeks to get to the dealership, but may be more because of Christmas. Yesterday dealership called and my car is in stock and will be delivered to me on Monday. :)

Wow, you are very lucky mate. Electric memory seats were banded about as a defining issue for lead time but nothing to confirm
S-Lines are more plentiful than most as likely the most "usual" order type. Edition One are like hen's teeth
Still no view of mine, to the point that the Ioniq5 loaner I have had from brand new is now telling me it needs its first service !
Mine is a Company car order through Listers Audi. No news, no updates - even if you chase
I could have had a Tesla or a Polestar - wish I had gone with one of those
In terms of Podpoint, had mine since Jan 22. If I was to cancel I would not pay, no way, and tell them to come and take it out if they want it back !

ordered my Q4 S-Line s/back via LEX company car in November 2021, had three delivery dates cancelled, to receive a call from Slough AUDI telling me it was in stock and it would be delivered the 3rd of January, to then receive a call on the 30th of December from the PDI company confirming delivery address and then receive another call 4 hours later to say there's a "bonnet rubber missing sir and the part is on back order", not happy at all with my first experience of AUDI... especially as I've sold my own Merc after the confirmed delivery from AUDI. I'm not convinced the bonnet rubber is missing to be honest, anybody else had the same issue?

Bit of an update on mine - and refers to rising costs.
Ordered Sept 21 - Lease car through work - pretty standard 40 with Tech Pack & met paint.
Pod point fitted Nov 21
Mine is now ready to be delivered to me and waiting at the Audi dealer.
Lease company have sent the paperwork through to my work on Tuesday, and the cost of the lease has risen by £100 a month from when I ordered the car, taking the car out of my band!
Has taken a couple of days, but work have agreed to pay the extra fortunately, but it was nearly cancelled after 17 months!

That’s strange to me because when they ordered the car they normally sort the costs out then(confirm the order XYZ). Hence all these posts on honouring the original cost and not increasing aren’t true then? . I ordered via LEX in Oct21 - due circa June 23, so on that basis mine has risen £5-6k (vorsprung 40) since order and therefore we saying that Lex will change the costs to suit the current rate then?
if so, and work won’t agree then there’s going to be an issue…. 19 months waiting for a car to then say you can’t have it? I’m lost now on this one:..

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say here? Almost as if you're inferring I'm making this up??
All I'm doing is telling you what has happened this week with my car, and MY work!
I've not mentioned the cost of the car, so I've not idea whether it's gone up by £5-£6k or not! Just that MY lease company (NOT LEX), have informed my work that the lease will be £100 more a month than we were originally quoted, which put it out of my banding. But work have honoured it!
Tbh, I couldn't give a toss whether you believe me, or if you're lost on a fairly simple post!!

I would have replied in a different manner if you’ve not been so rude.! Although I’m sorry if I’ve misinterpreted your original post.

At no point have I implied you’re lying. What I’m saying is that it is strange, as orders that are placed are generally locked in at the price at time ordered and AUDI honour price regardless of when you get your car (even if since ordering there’s been a price increase) that was my thinking. The fact it’s not costing you anymore As you rightly say makes no difference at all, I get..
But if this therory is right, it will for others that the employer won’t honour if the price changes.! So why does that not seem as reasonable assumption?
Good luck and good riddance from this site when yours arrives…!!!

Overreacting much? I have no idea how Q4whatQ4's post could have been perceived the way you did.

Anyhow, I'm not sure how it works in the UK and specifically with company leases, but in Europe there seems to be no consistency whatsoever (even within the same country). Some dealerships allow people to tweak their orders and not lose the price guarantee (obviously whatever is added is charged at the current price), others say that any and all changes trigger a price recalculation, and other dealerships don't even allow to make changes to existing orders. I know you haven't changed your configuration, but my point is that there is no consistency in how these decisions seem to be made.

In my case, I can make changes to my order and the dealership confirmed in writing that the agreed price will not change (again, except for whatever option I add). But honestly I won't believe it until the day (and IF) I receive my car (hopefully before the end of this decade).

I ordered mine in November 21 car due this week and lex honoring the price and deal. No additional costs or tax as the contract was agreed in November 21

For those waiting for Vorsprungs or First Editions, if you are keen to have a car before the end of this year and aren't wedded to the trim level, then I would suggest you contact your dealer and see what they have that is similar in spec in stock or about to be built. My Vorsprung 50 lease order from Oct 21 has now been cancelled and I have secured a 50 S line with C&S/Tech pack that the dealer had available to them and is currently in build. They have honoured the Oct 21 price too. So I am hopeful to see an actual car sometime in the next 2 months.
The dealer said all Vorsprung or First Editions they have on order are losing their estimated build dates. Mine went back to 00 just before Christmas, hence me pulling the plug. It sounds from this forum that those that do have a build date won't see their car until at least the end of this year 🤯 . I am sure my dealer will keep the order and sell the car for a huge profit when it does come, but I just wasn't prepared to wait any longer and spend ever increasing amounts keeping my existing Audi running!
