Why should I pay Audi's prices for the first service of my Q6? Can I get it serviced for less elsewhere?

@orien & @TehPenguin, the bloke is in the UK. The posted US Service & Warranty doesn't apply to the UK Audi owners.

He can do whatever he wants. Skip it for all I care.

Sorry for the US-centric replies, looks like you're right (from the Terms & Conditions linked on that page):
Your vehicle must be serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Any damage to or defect in the vehicle caused by poor or insufficient servicing will not be remedied under the warranty. Please ensure that you maintain sufficient records to enable the Audi Centre to confirm that the vehicle has been appropriately serviced. In any event, please ensure that the digital service schedule has been updated by the business carrying out the service work, or detailed invoices supplied with date, mileage, plus specified parts and fluids used.
This is why you should go find the info from the manufacturer, instead of trusting randos on the internet...

I wouldn't dream of taking my e-tron to a non-Audi garage, they just don't have the EV expertise, nevermind the e-tron-specific expertise. And yes, there's the potential warranty ramifications, too.

If you buy an Audi service plan, you can usually bring down the cost. Here in the UK, Audi usually offer 25% off service plans around December time as part of a Winter promotion. Makes the cost more acceptable. You can apply it when you next need a service, it doesn't need to apply to a service at the time.

Makes me chuckle, though, that we're all driving around in expensive cars and quibbling over an extra couple of hundred pounds at the most every two years for a service.

I would always take my vehicle to where I purchased it for any type of service. Unless I was travelling and the vehicle needed immediate service. Then you don’t really have an option.

Here’s why. Years ago I purchased a new vehicle from an out of town dealer because his price was thousands less than my local dealer. Then I had a problem so I thought the local guy would fix under warranty. Sure he would. But he also inconvenienced me as much as possible saying our local customers are our priority. They had my vehicle for a few weeks for a one day repair. I complained to the corporate customer service and they said as long as they fix it they are following the terms of the warranty.

I’m fortunate that servicing is included in my lease. However it is interesting to look at the very significant differences between comparable service costs across VAG cars/platforms, at least in the UK. Q3 service was around 60% more than a VW Tiguan service and Q4 service is almost double a Skoda Elroq service. Basically the same platforms

Well, to a trusted local garage whose rates are a fraction of a main dealership, I guess.
Agreed. And ÂŁ500+
Did you read the new car warranty?

"New Car Warranty – Terms and Conditions Audi UK warrants that it will rectify, free of charge, defects in materials and workmanship for a period of up to 3 years or 60,000 miles whichever occurs first. This warranty applies to Audi vehicles which were imported into the UK by Audi UK."

The earlier suggestion that Audi will not honor a warranty issue because UK owner did not service the vehicle at Audi dealer is just flat-out wrong.
Consumer laws in UK prohibit this, provided the Audi guidelines are followed.

Talking out one's rear end serves no purpose, other than to inflate post counts.
