I was in the dealership today picking up a replacement insert and they had ordered both types to be sure I got the right one. I can confirm they are too plastic, and held with 3 bolts. See picture
Do you have the part number handy of the insert from the picture that you ordered? One of mine broke today after a car wash. Thanks!

Thanks to @Ps702, @Bakus and many others on this forum for their help. Got my wheels powdercoated (semi-gloss 50/50) and just completed the tint. Very happy with the results!

This is exactly what I want but I'm struggling to find a SoCal shop that will do this with removing the fins and powder coating then re-adding them back on :(

Audi UK and Australia now offer a new 21" 5-double spoke concave module wheel with black inserts (option code 43S). The original wheel with platinum inserts has been renamed to "5-double spoke concave module design in black with graphic print" (option code 44I). I can't find any photos of the new wheel on an actual car, but here's the configurator render:

Hey guys, I recently joined the forum.

My GT in Kemora Grey and Sard Brown interior is about a month old, but I already replaced the stock 20s with the RS 21" 10-spoke trapezoidal aero design, together with a few other bits like black decals. I think they are a big improvement over the stock wheels, hope you guys agree?

Cheers, Joe

Hi guys, did anyone have an issue with the TPMS warning light when you changed wheel size?

I bought a set of OEM 21" RS wheels for my regular (non-RS) e-tron GT, replacing the original 20" inch wheels. The wheels I bought already came with TPMS sensors installed and tyres so I didn't switch out the ones from my original wheels. Old wheels and tyres straight off the car, new ones on.

Immediately threw up a TPMS warning light which bongs whenever the car is started, and doesn't go away if I try to reset the pressures through the MMI.

I still own the original wheels with the original sensors in but not sure if that would help or not if I changed the sensors around.

Did anyone else have these issues when changing wheel and tyres size vs. stock?

I took my car to my local dealer who said they don't have the equipment to be able to do it - not sure if this is just typical Audi dealer BS...

Cheers

First question... how do you know there are tpms sensors in the 21" wheels and that they are functioning properly?

I have been swapping between 20" GT, 21" GT and 20" Taycan wheels on two different GTs with zero problems.
