I'm thankful California permits wrapped plates. Mine is below the rings. No holes. no bulky license plate holder.

They don’t allow wrapped plates in Oregon, but although they ”require” a front license plate, they don’t enforce it except in a few places like downtown. So the solution I came up with was to stick four strong black magnets just below the rings. They look like sensors. Then I stuck four corresponding magnets on the back of the license plate. If I park somewhere that will be monitored, I clip on the front plate magnet to magnet. These are strong magnets, so even if I drive around, the plate doesn’t fall off.

Portland, OR for me, but the same would be true for anyplace that monitors front license plate requirements. I had silver magnets on a 2022 etron GT that I had before my 2023 RSGT. The silver matched the rings on that 2022 car. When I traded it in on my 2023, the magnets came off relatively easily and cleanly. No holes. I put the clear coat Mylar on first, then the magnets. We’re all coming up with innovative ways not to drill the bumper/grill.

Use 3M VHB or UHB tape. Difficult to remove once mounted but at least you do not drill holes in the car. I like the magnets, guess you can also paint them.

The magnets I ordered off Amazon came with double sided tape cut to match the magnets. I’ve driven both of my cars (GT & RSGT) through car washes and driven them in the PNW rainy weather without the magnets coming unstuck. And yes I’m sure they’re paintable. I thought about it, but didn’t think I could exactly match the red.

I live in NY and I bought a 2024 etron GT and the dealer charges $1,500 to install a OEM front plate mount. Apparently they have to remove the bumper to do this job! Ridiculous. I might try a no drilling option that I found at Audi E-Tron GT No-Drill Front License Plate Mount 2020-2024. Seems like a much better way to go.

Poferris - Looks good. In the mounting procedure picture though, it looks like it’s going to block the camera/sensor on their vehicle. I don’t remember that being a problem on the etron GT, but I’m sure you’ll check it out.

I did a custom order from Cravenspeed. No issue with the front sensor. Contact support at cravenspeed dot com and ask for Danielle.

I have the same one. In Illinois, they will not ticket you unless you are pulled over and ticketed for another violation or you are parked on the street after normal parking hours. I don’t use the mount often but have it in my trunk for a quick mount if needed.
