Theres many threads recently re Tesla Supercharger access so thought Id share my choice experience for long distance trips which I do frequently given rural location.
#1 home charging; by far the easiest and cheapest if you have the room at home and available electrical access for a charger. I almost always use the myAudi app timer to charge overnight unless I arrive home on very low SOC and may need to go out in a short time frame then reset the app for immediate charge. The downside is its L2 charging so relative slow charge.......if really needed Id head to the most local L3 fast charger.
#2 CCS public L3 fast chargers; work well with some very high power units so fast charging. The chargers have improved in availability and reliability so on longer trips far from home are 1st choice over home. Downside is the cost is typical +5x home $$.
#3 Tesla Supercharger; yes they do work on our Q4s with an adapter (I use A2Z) and the Tesla app. The recent availability provides another reliable option when on long trips and is 2nd choice over home. Downside again is cost where Ive paid +8x home $$.
I havent stayed overnight at hotels with L2 chargers but if available I would use them so start the day with a good SOC.
L1 charging with the included (is it still?) Audi charger works if stranded and in an emergency but extremely slow.
The ability to go long distance trips has come very far since starting my EV journey in March '23 and at this rate will get even easier to the point it where newer models and technology the charging capability will be a non topic...........except for the cost which should balance out over time.
