Hey guys!
I've just received my "Your Q4 is being created" email from Audi. (Only 13 months since I ordered it!)
I was told only a few weeks ago that it was going to be delivered early March 2023. I was OK with that. The winter would be over and I'd get the new plate on the car :)

The email says it is 'in-build' and will take approx' 3 weeks to complete.
Starting in 3 weeks time then taking 8 weeks to build and deliver sounds about right.. That's not really what the email suggests. It sounds more like my car will ship in 3 weeks time. I don't really want that :-(

Any ideas when my car is likely to arrive at the (UK) dealer?

Checked with my dealer about my car status. Still no build date and same ”assumption” it will be built in March -23.

Ordered first week of 2022 with most of add-ons ticked in.
He claims electric seats and panoramic roof are still on the restriction list.

Do you know what your build week was?
I had various updates, but from my lease company, not from Audi. But to be fair, the lease company were pretty on the ball.
All year they just said "ETA Dec 22".
But on the 27th Oct, it changed to "Confirmed for Build, Week 45 - ETA Late January".
On the 24th Nov I had the text of Audi saying "Your e-tron's almost ready etc"
On the 7th Dec it changed again to "In Transit, ETA early Jan"
On the 22nd Dec that changed to "In stock - delivery to be arranged", which I need to sort out 1st week back (obviously the Christmas break has added a week).
So, I guess from that it was about a month from build to in Transit, and then from the 7th to the 22nd to get to the dealer?
Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks that does, my confirmed build week is week 1 /23 so trying to gauge if it will be weeks or months before i see it. Fingers crossed i suppose.

Did you also order the heat pump?

My dealer confirmed that electric seats and heat pump are on the restriction list. I didn’t order the panoramic roof, so I have no info on that.

Every week something different is missing. A month ago it was the matrix lights, 3 months ago it was the 360 camera. By the time they have heat pumps and electric seats back in stock, they will have run out of paint or tinted film for the windows or some other BS

I understand they may want to churn out vehicles as fast as they can, and they then prioritize whatever they can build. But orders that have been pending for 12 or 18 months should be prioritized and whatever components they have in stock should be saved for those vehicles… and as soon as the missing ones arrive, they should be given to those cars

I've got the heat pump on mine and it's here I'm collecting on the 29th

Heat pump comes as standard in Sweden. I was not aware that heat pump is also on the restricted list. Looking at the configurator page in Sweden it states that something in the package that contains:
  • Reversing camera
  • Parking system plus
  • Adaptive cruise control
is also restrictive.

I would still like to believe that they have rules that they follow on how to plan production. I would guess they would follow following order of importance:
  • Allocation target for each country/region
  • Order date within each country/region
  • availability of parts
But I am baffled when reading that some got their orders cancelled.

It would seem that these restriction lists vary by country 🤔 I don't think the Swiss configurator provides info on which component is "problematic" (or I have never noticed that anyways). I have the 360 camera (not the reversing camera), parking plus, adaptive CC in my order, but Audi did not mention any of those being an issue. That's so strange.

I guess it makes SOME sense to a certain degree that e.g. heat pumps are not on the restriction list in Sweden, considering it comes as standard (otherwise no cars would be delivered at all). Perhaps they allocate country-specific critical components based on what's standard and what's not. But most likely, no one even at Audi knows what is going on :D

I have had a 50 Vorsprung on order since late October 2021. It has been showing build week 43 (28th October) for the last few months. Latest update from the dealer is that it now has no build week and Audi UK have advised dealers that any Q4 with no build week is unlikely to be built until 4th quarter 2023.

Just to add, I'm a UK resident although it shows a US flag below my user name. I assume that's because I posted this while I'm in the United States.
Sounds familiar - mine had a build date of Mar 23 for ages and 2 weeks ago went back to status 00. After 14 months I have had enough of the uncertainty and given your post too, decided to cancel. I asked if they had any alternatives and have decided to take a quattro 50 s line which is being built this week. Not quite the spec we were after but happy to have secured a car at last 🙂

What’s odd is the Audi U.K. web site has 55 new Q4’s available with various specs. Surely there must be some cars on this list that match orders held by Audi, or is that too simple?

hello all. 6 weeks in and love my Q4. However…just experiencing my first motorway charge at Ionity @ Gretna, M74! Wow, 12 places to go, UK’s charging infrastructure is not good. 😩
Woah we're heading back that way tomorrow?! Why so busy?! Let us know how it goes!

Hopefully all the chargers are working, IONITY locations have a bad habit of having one or two chargers down which is bad enough when there's six but I think Gretna only has four?
