This is great — thank you! I just turned in my Q8 for a '25 Q6 and love the updating. Little bit of a learning curve, but the MOST annoying thing is that almost every time I re-start the car, it has spontaneously switched back to a radio station that I would never ever listen to — so it's not in my favorites. This is just an FM station, not Sirius. The owner's manual doesn't say anything about this and I couldn't find anything that seemed logical in terms of a default station in the settings screens. Does anyone have this same issue, and are there any ideas for fixes? Thank you in advance!

The key used to lock the car retains settings for radio/XM, climate, seat, mirrors, etc. Mine keeps those each time, and my wife (her car) has different settings, so I know it recognizes the user unlocking the car and adjusts the settings.

Has anyone had issues with the down lights not turning off even when there is no bad weather? I was in a rural area that was hilly and the down lights came on and my regular all weather lights would not switch over even when I pulled over and shut the car off and restarted. This has happened a couple of times now when visiting family that is a distance away.

An oddity I encountered yesterday. I was using the route planner to drive to a fast charger - this is the only way to enable preconditioning. I was at 26% and had the charge limit set to 80% - my experience was that this takes 25-30 minutes at the particular charger. I was puzzled then to see it give the estimated time as 50 minutes. Strange.

It got to 78% and said it still had a half hour to go. WTF? Then 80...81..82..83. WTF?!? Annoyingly, there is no "stop charging" button on the MMI I can find - the only way I know of to stop charging is to set the charge limit to below the current level. But when I tried that, a message came up that the charge limit is set to 100% when in route guidance! It seems the car still thought I was en route; canceling route guidance triggered the car to stop charging.

Digging into the manual, I found this tidbit: "Exception: the set charging target is not taken into consideration during e-tron route planning."

Preconditioning and the e-Tron planner has driven me crazy over the months. Sometimes the preconditioning doesn't work, and even when it does I have never gotten the full speeds. But also noticed that It went over the charge limit like you experienced, and ended up stopping the charge on the charger itself.

We can add the "stop charge" button along side the manual preconditioning and better filtering on the planner to the Wishlist.

I noticed, as well, on the Q8 e-tron I entered a planned trip when I was at 60% charge and it popped-up a notice saying it had changed the beginning charge to 100%. Makes sense, but I thought it would plan my charges with a 60% start. As far as stopping a charge--wouldn't the Q6 button by the connector stop it (car unlocked)?

What happens if you click the button on the charge handle. Will it try to end the session then or just ignore you. I know yesterday I had the limit set to 80% in the garage and it wasn't finished yet so I hit charge handle button and waited a few seconds it stopped before it hit the target.

I did say "on the MMI". Yes, I can stop charging anytime using the button in the charge port, but most other EVs have a button on the in-car touchscreen. (Don't get me started on how little battery info Audi provides compared to other luxury brands, such as, um, Hyundai.)

It ends charging instantly. I actually like it that way.

There’s no automatic stop when it hits the desired level during a trip — which is great, because I can top it off by a few extra percent to drive faster.
Then I just stop the charging manually using the button.

You still have to unplug the charger manually, so it’s not a problem.

I agree about the data aspect of things but Audi it seems just wants you to feel like its a regular car. Fill it up to wherever you want and go.

Whats the use case for stopping it early via the MMI?

A normal car can also tell you the individual tyre pressure too. It’s called user experience, they can put crappy themes on the MMI, and an app store that is full of almost pointless apps. But anything helpful like battery management and tyre pressure are omitted. Audi do have their priorities set lol

I haven’t charged any other EVs myself (I’ve driven two, but they were always charged at the hotel by parking staff),
but I’ve watched a lot of reviews — and reviewers often praised cars that had any option to stop charging on their own.

I was under the impression that many cars rely on the charger to stop the session, which isn’t ideal — every charger is different, and usually you have to reauthenticate using a card or app.

Anyway, I’ve done 10,000 km in my Q6 and I’m really happy with how charging works.
One of the few things that are truly great about this car…
sadly, there are so few of them. :(

I hope someone can help me here. I have picked up my new Q6 and I tried to find a way to set some filters in the navigation system such as toll roads or highways and I could not find anything like that in the settings. Am I missing something? I also can’t find the different itineraries to choose from. It should be based on google maps and google usually offers the possibility to pick your preferred path. Do you know if it was removed?

In the Navigation screen, click the gear icon in the upper right and you can select Avoid settings.

It can display alternate routes if you have this option enabled in Map Contents (same dialog as above.)
