I have a UK Q6 Quattro Edition 1 and am trying to work out in what circumstances the various charging cables supplied with the car are to be used (I’ve only used tethered chargers so far in case you were wondering!). TIA

  • there’s a type 2 cable with the same plug on either end that you’d use for untethered chargers (home or AC public ones)
  • the rest are all the Audi charging system which is a type 2 cable with a choice of plugs for the other end - either a UK 3 pin plug or industrial commando socket (which we don’t tend to use in the UK). You use this when you don’t have access to a charger, eg staying at an Airbnb and can leave it trickle charging over a couple of days.

Thanks very much - so it looks like the type 2 one is the only one I'm likely to need and the rest I can pretty much forget about!

hi there, just got the Audi Q6 for the most part I love it but one thing I’ve not been able to figure out, maybe it’s me, but I cannot find a way in the Audi navigation to show the upcoming steps in my route.

I have clicked on the menu bar where I can end the route see the battery and all that other stuff and it’ll show me the next turn, but it will not show me the step-by-step turns I need to take to go somewhere.

Is this an option hidden somewhere I have got to find?

thank you

Good Morning,

Does anyone able to program the Audi Q6's passenger side mirror automatically tilt down when reversing?

Thanks
LIM
I’ve found it a bit temperamental and I’m not sure what state the buttons should be in. There is button on the door handle controls for dipping the mirrors and the mirror lights seem to flash when in reverse. Generally it works but I’ve then also had quite a bit that I’ll notice when driving forward my mirror is slightly dipped. I don’t know if you turn off the car after reversing if it doesn’t fully tilt back up it just stays there (I’m guessing). This functionality definitely seems a bit temperamental though.

Thank you! When i got the car, the wide mirror tilt down when reversing was not active.
I did have a look at this link below and try to follow the instruction but does seem to work.
Audi Tech Tutorial: Curb View Mirror Programming

Currently tilt down is not active.

Thanks

Hey @LIM have you set it up and store the setting? I tried the set up and it seems to have worked ages ago but don’t really use it.

Select passenger mirror on dial

Put car into reverse

Use mirror control to set mirror in to tilt then adjust to an angle you desire

Then set parking brake to save ? This should save it

Hi Hppy,

Thank you for the information. I will try it later. The reason I trying to set this up is because I ran in to a curb last week both front and back rims were scratch badly.

Thanks

Sorry to hear that I feel your pain, for the second time my car was hit with a shopping cart at Waitrose whilst parked. Luckily I took out Audi SMART dent and tyre cover who have fixed both scratches.

Hope the golf is going well!

Looking for the ability to change or select a different route in the navigation. Based on experience I would say it’s in Shortest distance mode, as it takes me down some very odd roads. Is there an option to change this?

Good question - it loves taking me down hair-raising single track roads with blind bends and once even tried a road / track that had a “not suitable for motor vehicles” sign at the beginning of it (I gave that a miss)!
